Eminem's reaction to being shown on the Jumbotron as he cheered on his beloved Detroit Lions during the team's most recent game has gone viral on social media.

On Sunday, the rapper was on hand to watch the Lions secure a 31-23 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round of the 2023-24 NFL playoffs.

On the previous weekend, the NFL team broke its 32-year playoff drought when it won against the Los Angeles Rams 24-23 on January 15 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

This means the Lions can now boast two home playoff games for the first time in franchise history. This is also the first time since 1957 that the Lions have won two playoff games in the same season.

With an understandably celebratory atmosphere shared among Lions fans at the field, the cheers were elevated all the more when hometown hero Eminem popped up on the Jumbotron.

During the game, a post on X, formerly Twitter, from the rapper was shown on the screen. "Let's f****** go!!!!! Detroit @Lions," read the social media post.

The camera cut to Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers III. On realizing that he was on the giant screen, the musician pumped up the screaming crowd by playfully roaring, flexing and pumping his chest.

Eminem's Oscar-winning 2002 track "Lose Yourself" could be heard in the background under the raucous cheers that flooded the field.

Video footage of the endearing moment was shared on an Eminem X account, alongside the caption: "Eminem literally being a fanboy, you can't hate this guy."

As of press time, the video has been viewed more than 93,000 times. Another clip of the moment from a different angle, which was shared by the Detroit Free Press, has garnered more than 160,000 views.

Days before the game, Eminem posted a video on Instagram, in which he urged Lions coach Dan Campbell to let him join the team. "Coach Dan ... the offer still stands. I'm around for Sunday, lmk [let me know]..." he captioned the post.

"Yo, Dan, I'm reporting, I'm gonna report third quarter. I'm reporting offensive line, eligible receiver, I'll be the quarterback, the entire line, offensive line and the receiver," the rapper said in the clip.

"And I'll throw it to myself and I will score a touchdown in the third quarter. Just give me a uniform or at least just like, a helmet. I already have a helmet, it's not the one for football, it's just a helmet but um, yeah man, I'm here bro! I'ma be there, I'ma be there that night, I will suit up and I will score us the winning touchdown in the third quarter, the winning touchdown."

Eminem has been spotted at various Lions games this season, and in years past, has taken his spot in the commentary booth.

Before they faced the Rams on January 15, the Lions had held the record for the longest streak without an NFL playoff win as they hadn't won a playoff game since January 1992. They also hadn't hosted a playoff game since they were defeated by the Green Bay Packers in January 1994.

In a turnaround of fortunes, the Lions will face the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC title game this coming Sunday for the right to go to the Super Bowl.
