The father of a woman who was gunned down in her driveway while setting up for a garage sale in Texas said "we will never give up," as the case has gone unsolved for three years and officials have increased the reward money for tips and information in the case.

During a press conference on Tuesday, officials with Crime Stoppers of Houston and the Harris County Sheriff's Office announced that the reward for information on the 2019 murder of Elizabeth "Liz" Barraza has increased to $50,000.

Barraza's father, Bob Nuelle spoke during the press conference and said, "nearly three years ago, we all stood here around this podium to share the news of the murder of my beautiful daughter."

"In the time since, we have taken every opportunity to share her life, her stories and any chance we get to get the word out to the murderer, 'we will never give up,'" Nuelle said. "Here we are, three years. Doggedly engaged in this fight for justice for a young woman who was taken from all of us."

In 2019, Barraza was gunned down by an unknown suspect while setting up a garage sale at her home in the town of Tomball. When officials with the Harris County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene, they found Barraza on the ground with gunshot wounds to her body. She was transported to a nearby hospital shortly after but was pronounced deceased a day later.

"An unknown suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored pickup truck," the Harris County Sheriff's Office said in a 2019 press release.

Authorities have said that they believe the suspected shooter was driving a dark-colored Nissan Frontier Pro 4X Crew Cab, 2013 or newer. Authorities have also released videos of what they believe to be the suspected shooter fleeing from the home after fatally shooting Barraza. In one video released by the sheriff's office, doorbell camera footage showed the front of Barraza's home and several gunshots are eventually heard. Toward the end of the video, the pick-up truck can be seen speeding away from the home.

During the press conference on Tuesday, Harris County Sheriff's Office Homicide Detective Wallace Wyatt said that his office is not calling this a cold case but instead, an active investigation to find who shot Barraza.

"We want more leads. We follow every lead," he said.

Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg also spoke at the press conference and said, "The detectives you see who are on this case will never forget Liz, and they won't stop until they complete the case."

Barraza's family has set up a website to provide information on the case and to ask for tips.

Newsweek reached out to the Harris County Sheriff's Office for comment.
