A man in Miami reportedly attacked two people with a machete in an argument about his car.

Yosmel Galan, 32, reportedly went to the business next door to his workplace and confronted a man about getting his car dirty.

He demanded the man clean it and reportedly left when the man refused. According to police, Galan returned 30 minutes later with a machete and entered the business through a door that is normally only open to employees.

Once inside the premises, Galan attacked two people who had their backs turned to him. He struck them several times around their heads and necks with the machete, before witnesses shouted at him to stop. Galan fled, leaving the machete behind.

The two victims survived, but one had an injury to his neck and right eye. The other suffered a head injury that required staples.

Galan has been charged with attempted murder and armed assault over the incident on February 9.

Last month, a New York man was arrested after allegedly killing his 79-year-old grandfather and injuring two other family members with a machete. The 22-year-old man, Dayquan Dubose, was arrested after police said he had attacked his grandfather, his 4-year-old sister and another adult male in an apartment in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) told Newsweek they were called to a report of an assault on 300 Putnam Avenue.

In a statement, police said: "Upon arrival officers discovered a 79-year-old male with a stab wound to the abdomen, a 49-year-old male with a slash wound to the hand and a 4-year-old female with a slash wound to the hip."

The 79-year-old was rushed to Interfaith Hospital in Brooklyn where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said. Dubose has been charged with second-degree murder, assault and child endangerment.

In 2019, a Florida man allegedly threatened to kill his neighbor with "Kindness"—the name he gave his machete. Bryan Duane Stewart, 30, of Milton was accused of injuring a man with a machete-style knife just moments after issuing the threat.

Deputies at the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office said a neighbor had reported hearing yelling and banging from Stewart's home throughout the day.

The neighbor reportedly approached Stewart's house and told him to keep it down. In response, Stewart came outside with a knife raised. A second neighbor stepped in front to block Stewart's alleged strike with the machete and suffered a cut to his hand.
