As part of this week's legendary questline in Fortnite, players are tasked with commandeering an IO car and leaving it at one of the aliens' settlements.
To help you accomplish this mission, Newsweek has prepared the following guide with a breakdown of the various IO car locations.
Before you are given this assignment, you will first have to complete the preceding three objectives in this week's legendary questline. Titled "Setting Out the Bait," these limited-time missions are all handled by Marigold and can be distinguished by their orange color coding in the quest log.
You will receive a generous amount of XP for completing each stage of "Setting Out the Bait," so it is definitely worth doing. Newsweek has already published a walkthrough for one of the trickier missions here, which requires you to plant a jammer device right outside an IO Base.
How to Leave an IO Car at an Alien Settlement
For the fourth legendary quest, you will need to find an IO car and park it in one of the alien settlements.
It is worth noting that you cannot use any random vehicle here and that it must be one of the shadowy organization's black sedans. Unfortunately, these are not marked on the map, and you will have to scout around for one.
Once you are behind the wheel, drive over to the alien settlement at Holly Hatchery (which is distinguished by its purple antigravity zones and parasite nest) and then exit the vehicle to complete the quest. The IO cars have limited fuel reserves, so make sure that you head straight to the alien settlement and do not get side-tracked along the way. Alternatively, you can bring along a gas canister to refuel if necessary.
In terms of where you can find the cars themselves, here are some of the best spawn locations.
IO Car Location #1
Your best bet for tracking down an IO car is to search the organization's bases that are dotted around the island. The first of these can be found at the far north of the map, in an octagonal structure. A car is parked here in an open garage, near the center of the base.
IO Car Location #2
Another car is parked in a base halfway between Craggy Cliffs and Steamy Stacks. Look for the isolated grey spot on the map and you will be able to find it. A car can be found in a building to the southern outskirts of this particular base.
IO Car Location #3
To the southeast of Misty Meadows, and east of the snow-topped mountain, you will find another base. The car here is difficult to miss, as it is parked right next to the giant satellite dish.
IO Car Location #4
Another base can be found in the southwest corner of the map, in the Slurpy Swamp region. There are actually two IO vehicles parked here, so if another player is trying to complete the quest you can both get one.
IO Car Location #5
There is a very small base to the east of Weeping Woods, at the top of a steep hill. The car here is parked in a garage.
IO Car Location #6
If you head southwest from Dirty Docks, you will find an IO base next to a bend in the road. Other nearby landmarks include Lake Canoe. The car here is once again parked in a garage.
IO Car Location #7
A pair of IO cars are stationed at the base to the west of Believer Beach. If you follow the coast and then head up the big hill, you should be able to find it quite easily.
