Fortnite's legendary questline for this week is called "A Subtle Skirmish" and has you spying on extraterrestrial invaders at the behest of the enigmatic Dr Slone.
Among other tasks, she will ask you to station probes around the island, kill trespasser NPCs and disable alien billboards. There is plenty of XP on offer for completing these missions (potentially enough to level you up in the battle pass four or five times) so you should definitely give it a try before the questline expires.

A Subtle Skirmish Walkthrough: Start the Questline
To kick off the legendary questline, the first thing you must do is talk to Dr Slone herself.
As dedicated Fortnite players will already know, the IO operative is a hostile NPC when you find her out and about in the field. This means you will need to speak to her over a payphone if you want a more cordial conversation.
These telephone booths can be found all over the island in residential areas, gas stations and even bus stops. If you open up the quest menu and navigate down to the legendary tab (which can be identified by its orange color coding), you can mark one of these locations on your map.
Once you have accepted the espionage assignment from Slone, you will need to wait until your next match before starting stage two of the questline.
A Subtle Skirmish Walkthrough: Disable an Alien Billboard
The next thing that Slone will ask you to do is retrieve a signal detector and use it to disable one of the alien billboards.
While that might sound relatively straightforward, there is an extra wrinkle here, as you will need to complete the whole quest in a single sitting without being killed by a rival player. Sometimes Fortnite will let you pick at its missions in dribs and drabs, but not this time.
Again, if you open up the quest menu, you will be able to find suggested locations for the billboards (see the screenshot below). We found that Boney Burbs was a particularly good place to tick off both steps in the quest within a short distance of each other.
If you drop to the southeast of the village, you will find an alien signal detector lying by the roadside. Pick this up by holding down the interact button and then head over to the west, where you will see a billboard overlooking you on a hill.
All you need to do next is make a short journey over to the billboard and press the interact button to disable it. Once you have done that, you will be able to begin stage three of "A Subtle Skirmish."
This has been a busy week for Fortnite, as the game has been updated with a Suicide Squad crossover and a monumental change to the Slurpy Swamp area.
There will also be a series of Ariana Grande concerts throughout the weekend. The first of these virtual performances will take place on Friday afternoon.
