The co-hosts of Fox News' Fox & Friends claimed on Tuesday that the American public is relying on the network for coverage of the ongoing impeachment inquiry.
Fox & Friends co-hosts Ainsley Earhardt and Steve Doocy touted their own role in relaying impeachment hearing information to the American public, despite citing a Media Research Center report that 95 percent of the country did not watch last week's inquiry testimonies. Although aggressively hyping Tuesday's impeachment inquiry witnesses in the Trump-Ukraine scandal, the Fox News morning crew questioned why Americans should even want to watch programming which several of their guests labeled a "sham" and "boring."
Fox News correspondent Griff Jenkins said the 9:30 a.m. ET morning witnesses, Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman and Jennifer Williams, will likely be in favor of Democratic, anti-Trump narratives. But he said the 2:30 p.m. ET witnesses, Kurt Volker and Tim Morrison, will likely support Republican counter-narratives.
Doocy and Earhardt highlighted last week's ratings data and dubbed Fox & Friends the top choice for viewers interested in the ongoing impeachment hearings. "The number one choice for watching the impeachment inquiry is right here, Fox News Channel, thank you," Doocy proclaimed.
Ainsley Earhardt says America is counting on Fox News to explain impeachment: "The American public, they want us to watch it all, they want us to give them the summary and tell them what happened. It's hard for them to follow all of these players." pic.twitter.com/hvjzrMAXT5

"The American public, they want us to watch it all, they want us to give them the summary and tell them what happened. It's hard for them to follow all of these players," Earhardt said.
"It's easy to understand though, if you were watching somebody on TV and they go, and were asked, 'Did you ever talk to the president?' 'No.' 'Were you on the call?' 'No.' 'Was he involved in bribery?' 'No.' 'Did he break any laws?' 'No.' Ok, how much of that do you even need to watch?"
Doocy cited a Monday Newsbusters article headlined, "Yawn: 95% of U.S. Adults Skipped Friday's Impeachment Hearings," as he laid out the conflicting point that the hearings are "boring" despite the cable news network's high ratings. The right-leaning media website cited Media Research Center data which showed 241.3 million Americans were "doing something else on Friday besides watching these hearings."
The hosts' feelings were echoed by former Trump Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who appeared on the Tuesday program declaring, "At the end of the day, none of this matters, all of America can read [the transcripts] for themselves."
There are public impeachment hearings scheduled for Tuseday, Wednesday and Thursday, with a total of 9 witnesses set to appear before House lawmakers this week. Tuesday's hearings are taking place at the House Ways and Committees room in the Longworth House Office Building in Washington.
The Fox & Friends co-hosts stressed to viewers that "different people on the calls reacted differently" based on their biased political ideologies.
"Does this really rise to impeachment?" Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade told his viewers to ask themselves as they watch the coverage.
