A dog called Rocky has left the internet in tears after his reaction to his new look-alike Christmas toy went viral on social media.
In the video, shared on TikTok on Monday by the dog's owner, under the username rockyivanov, the German shepherd, who suffers from straight leg syndrome, can be seen impatiently unwrapping his Christmas present, getting all excited when he finds out it's a stuffed toy that looks exactly like him.
The viral post comes with a caption that reads "POV: you get your dog a 'dog' for Christmas and they're instant best friends," followed by "he's literally so happy."

According to Oakland Veterinary, dogs enjoy friendly interactions with familiar humans and other animals and usually tend to avoid isolation. Although every dog is different, each one has its own temperament and preferences. Some dogs prefer to live alone with their owners, while others prefer having another dog friend in the house.
How do you know if your dog will get along with another dog? If your dog gets aggressive or anxious in the presence of other dogs, you might reconsider adopting another as a companion for him.
One way to see if your dog really needs a four-legged companion is to pay attention to how your dog reacts the day after a play date. If he seems cool and laid back, then he's fine on his own, while if he seems a bit off and sad, he probably needs a new friend!
The post quickly attracted animal lovers from all over the platform, receiving over 470,700 views and 27,100 likes so far.
One user, dontyounwish232323, commented: "You need to get this boy a real puppy. Like now." And Carlyevs said: "I should've done this for my St. Bernard except I got him a real dog and he hated him. (until then he loved all dogs except this one)."
Winemixercat wrote: "Omg we did this with my husky and that stuffed animal was ripped apart in 2 days..." And Sarah Jacobs added: "My dog would lose his mind thinking we really brought a new dog home." doloresvantour590 said: "Aw so cute looks like he loves his new best friend."
