Online commenters have hailed a gender reveal as the best one they've ever seen after a golden retriever was seen announcing that his owners are going to parent a baby girl.
In a viral clip shared by @beaunosebones, a page dedicated to Beau the dog, he can be seen patiently waiting to tuck into a white frosted cake with "Boy or girl?" written on the top. Seconds later, the video turns into a slideshow of images that show Beau enjoying the cake and exhibiting pink icing all over his snout. On screen are the words "It's a girl!"
The TikTok video has been watched 5.3 million times and received 848,000 likes.
In the comments, the owner said the cake is specifically intended for dogs and contains minimal ingredients. "Beau has a super sensitive tummy and was great with this!" she said.

Almost 3,000 people have commented on the video since it was posted on December 16. Most praised the couple's creativity, saying they'd never seen a gender reveal like this one before.
A previous Newsweek story described a dad's negative reaction to finding out he is going to father a girl. But it was quite the opposite for Beau's owners, who shared another video showing them celebrating after opening a box filled with pink balloons.
TikTokers were clearly impressed with Beau's involvement in the gender reveal announcement. However, a YouGov survey says one-third of Americans say such parties are "unnecessary."
The market research company surveyed 1.2 million of its registered members to find out "what Americans really think of gender reveal parties." The results also found that 30 percent think they're "trendy," while 28 percent said they're "silly."
The couple behind the Beau video have received a storm of support from thousands of TikTokers, with the top comment receiving 31,500 likes.
One user said it was "probably the best gender reveal I've ever seen." Another person agreed, saying, "Legitimately the best gender reveal idea ever ever ever."
"The only gender reveal I've liked tbh [to be honest]," said another user.
Another commenter wrote: "Congrats! I've never seen a gender reveal like this before, and Beau is going to be a good brother."
Newsweek has previously written about the bonds formed between children and dogs. One golden retriever melted hearts as he was seen greeting his owner's child daily. And a German shepherd playing with a toddler left some in awe of his gentleness.
Newsweek reached out to @beaunosebones for comment and could not verify the details of the case.
