The wait for Gossip Girl Season 2 on HBO Max is almost over. It's been over a year since the new generation of Constance Billard students wreaked havoc across New York City and they are back for more.
Season 1 saw Max (Thomas Doherty), Aki (Evan Mock), JC (Jordan Alexander), Audrey (Emily Alyn Lind), Obie (Eli Brown), Zoya (Whitney Peak), Luna (Zión Moreno), and Monet (Savannah Smith) bring in the New Year at Aki's father's mansion, spill their deepest secrets at Thanksgiving and constantly try to evade the watchful eye of Gossip Girl.
Everything came to a head in the Season 1 finale, ending on a huge cliffhanger with Monet and JC as the only two competing for the crown and Gossip Girl's throne.
With the new season kicking off on Thursday, December 1 on HBO Max, Newsweek has a reminder of the four burning questions that need answering.
The 5 Burning Questions Gossip Girl Season 2 Must Answer

1. What will Monet do next?
Furious JC was not living up to her Queen Bee status, it looks like Monet is going to be taking the crown for herself.
When Monet saw JC being kind to Obie and Zoya, the two people who Monet blames for knocking JC off her throne, she remarked: "Why did it have to be her? Anyone could have been IT, even me" she says to herself, looking down at JC.
JC had somehow managed to talk to Obie's new love, Grace, and arranged for him to meet Grace at his house back in the city to bring in the New Year. She also arranged for Zoya's new BFF, Shan to pick her up and take her to the party she really wants to go to, after Zoya, quite rightly gave JC some sisterly advice and told her to stop living in the past.
As the finale comes to an end, Monet is seen making some notes in her bedroom away from the party downstairs.
Speaking to Newsweek after the Season 1 finale in February, Gossip Girl showrunner Joshua Safran revealed that Monet will be the one to watch in Season 2.
"I would say Monet is very much sick of being in the passenger seat and is very much going to try her best to steal that driver's seat," he said. "You shouldn't trust Monet; there is a war coming. It's not just Julian versus Gossip Girl against the world, it's Monet against Julian and it's coming pretty fast."

2. Which Gossip Girl alum will return?
Season 1 saw the return of Gossip Girl favorites including Yin Chang as Nelly Yuki, Zuzanna Szadkowski as Dorota, Sarah Baskin as Rebecca Sherman, Margaret Colin as Eleanor Waldorf, and Wallace Shawn as Cyrus Rose.
After hints that Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) would appear in Season 1 thanks to the arrival of her son, Milo Sparks (Azhy Robertson), it has been revealed the much-loved—and loathed—Gossip Girl antagonist will be making a return this season.
If Season 1 is anything to go by, hopefully, Season 2 will see a lot more familiar faces.
3. How will JC and Gossip Girl work together?

At the end of Season 1, JC teamed up with Gossip Girl as she rang in the New Year.
She approached the mysterious blogger—who is actually her teacher Kate Keller—with a proposal. Going forward, JC will tell Gossip Girl everything she knows, but not every tip will be true.
Nevertheless, Gossip Girl will have to post all of JC's tips, which means she can act as a savior in the real world and fight to put an end to Gossip Girl and unmask her true identity.
However, in the episode's very last moments, Gossip Girl said she had one condition of her own and we will find out exactly what that is in Season 2.
4. What's Next for Audrey, Aki, and Max?

In the Season 1 finale, Aki, Max, and Audrey admitted their true feelings for one another and they decided to give a three-way relationship a go.
Speaking to Newsweek, Safran teased that the trio's romance is set to go to "even more deeper places than it has gone before." But will they get their happily ever after or will there be trouble in paradise?
But if Gossip Girl has anything to do with it, things might not go as smoothly for the throuple as they hoped.
Gossip Girl Season 2 airs Thursdays on HBO Max.
