Harvestella is a life simulator with RPG elements from developer Live Wire, published by Square Enix. Set in the world of Seaslight, players must take on Quietus, the Season of Death, which causes crops to wither and die while forcing people to remain in their homes. Players work as protagonist Ein to stop Quietus using good from their farm, alongside a crew of characters: a girl named Aria, the mechanic Heine, and missionary Shirka.

In Harvestella, you'll need to take care of a litany of actions, all as one out of 12 different RPG classes, including Fighter and Mage, similar to the Final Fantasy series. There's also a lot of farming and tending to the land, as you might imagine. Sometimes, that leads to clearing potential farm land of debris, like rocks.

Typically, when it comes to small rocks in your way, you can break them up with your hammer. You'll create a Hammer on your Crafting Table, which you'll learn how to do from the character named Cres on Day 2. It takes 10 Hard Stone to complete and not very much time to finish, but it'll be an integral part of your journey through the game, especially with how many rocks there are in your way.

But aside from the smaller rocks you find in your way, you'll also come across big rocks that also need to be taken care of in Harvestella. Those aren't easily broken and your regular hammer won't do the job. If you want to have the most bountiful crops possible, you'll have to clear out rocks big and small. But how do you get rid of the big rocks in Harvestella? Here's how you can get rid of those big stones in no time.

How to Break Big Rocks in Harvestella

You won't be able to break big stones in the game without an upgraded hammer. Before you can break big stones, you'll need to have upgraded the original hammer you crafted to the next level. But that's not too difficult.

So what do you need, exactly? Nothing but a little time. Play through Harvestella as you normally would and reach Chapter 3C, where you will meet the Earth Faerie, before you can upgrade your hammer. This means you will need to complete the Winter dungeon before proceeding.

Similarly, the Wind Faerie will allow you to gather additional crops and the Fire Faerie offers a bigger plow. Those pesky big stones will be in your way until then otherwise, so you might simply need to wait a while and progress through the game, upgrade your items, and eventually complete the Seaslight Dungeon to meet the Earth Faerie.

When you've gotten the Earth Faerie's recipes, you will be able to unlock the larger hammer in addition to other recipes you can use to bolster your time clearing out your farm and gathering crops.

Harvestella is available now on Nintendo Switch and PC.
