The Haunting of Bly Manor is streaming now on Netflix, and like its predecessor The Haunting of Hill House, most scenes include an array of ghosts hidden in the frame. These are not the only doomed characters we see in the series, however, which sees a dozen characters die over the course of its nine episodes.
WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the entirety of The Haunting of Bly Manor
All the characters who die in The Haunting of Bly Manor
Charlotte and Dominic Wingrave
Bly Manor's first deaths are the ones that kick off the entire plot. The governesses that are brought to the house to look after Flora (played by Amelie Bea Smith) and Miles (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) are the death of their parents Charlotte (Alex Essoe) and Dominic Wingrave (Matthew Holness). They try to fix their marriage after an affair by reliving their anniversary in India, where they meet their end in an accident, the events of which we never fully discover.
Peter Quint
Dominic's brother Henry (Henry Thomas) has a valet named Peter (Olivier Jackson-Cohen), who might be a fairly terrible person, but still does not deserve his fate. In the series, he is one of the victims of the Lady of the Lake (Kate Siegel), who drags him into her lake.
Rebecca Jessel
Dani Clayton (Victoria Pedretti) becomes the nanny to Flora and Miles after the death of their first governess, where she falls in love with Peter. After he dies, he keeps taking control of her body so they can be together again. This ends terribly for her, however, as he takes control of her body and drowns her in the lake so they can be together as ghosts.
Edmund O'Mara
Edmund O'Mara (Roby Attal) is a ghost that seems to be just haunting Dani, to whom he often appears in mirrors. He is Dani's ex-fiance, with whom she had an argument that led to him getting out of her car and getting hit by a truck.
Margaret Sharma
In one of the few non-supernatural-related deaths in The Haunting of Bly Manor, Margaret Sharma is the mother of house chef Owen Sharma (Rahul Kohli). While staying at the manor, he learns that his mother has died of dementia.
Hannah Grose
In a big shock in the Netflix series, we learn that Bly Manor housekeeper Hannah (T'Nia Miller) has been dead the entire time, and in fact is another victim of Peter. The valet took over the body of Miles and had him push Hannah down the well.

Viola Lloyd
Viola, aka The Lady of the Lake, is the original lady of the house, who lived in Bly in the 17th century. Suffering from some sort of sickness, she is eventually smothered to death by her sister Perdita (Katie Parker), becoming The Lady of the Lake after a trunk full of her clothes was thrown in the lake.
Perdita Willoughby
Perdita's sister eventually returns the favor, strangling her to death after she opens that trunk.
Lord Henry Wingrave (almost)
The uncle of Dani and Flora, and the man Charlotte was having an affair with, Henry briefly dies after the Lady in the Lake chokes him and even becomes a ghost, though Owen manages to bring him back.
Dani Clayton
Dani is the last person the Lady of the Lake manages to take over. Dani allows her to do this in order to stop her endless quest to find her daughter. Eventually, years after the events of The Haunting of Bly Manor, the Lady takes her over, and Dani becomes a new, non-murderous Lady of the Lake.
