Herschel Walker Party Video Shows Moment They Found Out He'd Lost

A video of Republican Herschel Walker's election party showing the moment guests realized he had lost is circulating on social media.

The same video shows the jubilation at the gathering for his Democratic opponent, Senator Raphael Warnock.

The Associated Press called the Georgia Senate race in favor of Warnock after 99 percent of the votes had been counted. Warnock won 51.4 percent of the votes (1,817,465) to Walker's 48.6 percent (1,719,868).

Walker later gave a concession speech, in which he thanked the people of Georgia for their support and said he would not make excuses for his loss.

The contrasting footage from the two parties was shared on Twitter late on Tuesday night by Timothy Burke, president of political consulting firm Burke Communications.

"Here's the moment the race was called at each respective party. The song playing at Herschel Walker is particularly apt."

At Walker's party, his supporters can be seen in a hall watching election coverage on a big screen. When the result is called, there is little reaction from the crowd as Bruce Springsteen's "Glory Days" continues to play.

Despite the crestfallen atmosphere, other videos from the evening show that Walker gave an upbeat but gracious concession speech, which has won praise on social media.

Walker told his supporters: "One of the things I want to tell all of you is you never stop dreaming. I don't want any of you to stop dreaming.

"I don't want any of you to stop believing in America. I want you to believe in America and continue to believe in the constitution and believe in our elected officials most of all.

"I want you to continue to pray for them because all of the prayers that you had given me, I felt those prayers."

He added that despite his accolades as an NFL player, he considered running in the Georgia Senate race to be the best thing he had ever done.

In Warnock's victory speech he vowed to "keep working" for all Georgians as he wins a full six-year Senate term.

His win on Tuesday ensures that Democrats will control the upper chamber of Congress with a 51-seat majority, eliminating the need for the party to negotiate a power-sharing agreement with Republicans.

President Joe Biden tweeted that he had called Warnock to offer his congratulations, adding that voters in Georgia had stood up for democracy and "rejected Ultra MAGAism."
