Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria were pictured speaking to police over the weekend, just days after a search warrant was issued for the actor's phone.
Photographs show the couple being pulled over by authorities in the Hamptons in New York on Saturday, December 18.
The photos, published by The New York Post, show the actor waiting inside his car while his wife was speaking with an East Hamptons Police officer on the side of the road. Hilaria Baldwin can also be seen showing her phone screen to the officer.
It isn't clear from the photos why the couple were stopped and speaking to police and if it was in relation to the search warrant.
Newsweek has contacted Baldwin's legal team for comment.
Following the publication of the photos in The New York Post and The US Sun, Hilaria Baldwin denied they were pulled over, as she took to social media to clarify the situation.
In a video shared to Instagram, Hilaria Baldwin said that she stopped the police officer to ask for help, claiming that they were being followed by paparazzi while driving.
"THIS IS NOT TRUE AND A LIE," she said of reports that they were pulled over by the cops.
"I drove around, with Alec and [their daughter] Carmen in the car until I found a police officer and asked for help from the people chasing me," Hilaria Baldwin wrote in her caption.
"One in particular that harasses us in such an ugly way got out and started screaming at the police and at me. Saying he is at work and I am getting in his way—apparently because I won't let him violate me and my family. She made him move his car. She told me to always reach out for help—it gets scary."
She continued: "So he takes the photos he took, and says I got pulled over. Where I was driving around, looking for someone to help me.
"So, once again: writing made up stuff. As I said, the ny post will come after me more for speaking out. this might make it even worse, but, as I said before, I won't be silent while you cause harm."
Last week, New Mexico authorities investigating the shooting of Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie Rust issued a search warrant for Alec Baldwin's cell phone.
On October 21, a prop gun Alec Baldwin was using during Rust went off during rehearsals, leading to the death of Hutchins and the injury of writer-director Joel Souza.
Last week, Hilaria Baldwin told paparazzi to "stay away" on Instagram.
The search warrant and affidavit in Santa Fe Magistrate Court is now seeking access to Baldwin's phone as part of the investigation.
"There may be evidence on the phone, due to individuals using cellular phones during and/or after the commission of crime(s)," the document reads.
"There were several emails and text messages sent and received regarding the movie production Rust in the course of (police) interviews," the affidavit continues.
Baldwin's civil attorney Aaron Dyer said that a "phone contains a person's entire life, and personal information needs to be protected."
"We are confident that the evidence will show that Mr. Baldwin is not responsible civilly or criminally for what occurred on October 21, and he continues to cooperate with authorities," Dyer said in a statement to Newsweek.
"We proactively requested that the authorities obtain a warrant so that we could take steps to protect Mr. Baldwin's family and personal information that is clearly unrelated to the investigation."
