If you've just started playing Splatoon 3, you're probably wishing you had any manner of ways to customize your Inkling or Octoling. Unfortunately, you'll have to play a bit before you can access the good stuff. Luckily, there's at least one piece of equipment you can nab rather quickly. Thanks to Nintendo, you can get a free Splashtag to use on your profile to show the world what type of player you are without playing a match.

There are tons of different ways to change up your character in Splatoon 3. That includes outfits, weapons, accessories and much more. In fact, Splatoon 3 has the most customization options available yet, and you'll find plenty of unique items to do that with as you progress through the ranks.

Splashtags are player customization options used to show your in-game nickname. You can customize your own with a variety of designs, badges and other titles. You'll unlock new options to deck out your Splashtag as you complete more of the game, and eventually you can make it as unique as you are.

Right now, all you need to get a special Splashtag is a copy of Splatoon 3, the Nintendo Switch Online app and a mobile device with the program installed. How to Get the Splatoon 3 QR Code

You can find the Splatoon 3 QR Code for a free Splashtag banner at the official Splatoon 3 Twitter account. You'll need to use the Splatnet 3 app to capture the QR code, so make sure you have the Nintendo Switch Online app installed on your mobile device. You'll have to log in with the Nintendo account tied to the Switch on which you're playing Splatoon 3.

Log into the Nintendo account that's tied to your Splatoon 3 game data. Launch Splatoon 3 and you'll be able to access Splatnet 3 as a tie-in app. Select the QR Code Reader to scan the code seen on Twitter. When complete, you will see a message indicating that you were successful.

From there, go to the Lobby Terminal and head into an online match. Finish it up, go back to the Lobby Terminal, and look for the "Get Stuff" option. You should find your new Splatnet 3 Splashtag banner as an option to apply to your player profile.

Now, you can change out your Splashtag at will to your new reward, or you can wait until you rise through the ranks and earn more. You'll always be able to choose an even more stylish Splashtag banner as you play more Splatoon 3, so keep an eye out for new goodies.
