In September, police said a man's body was found inside a car at a Taco Bell parking lot in Nebraska.

The Lincoln Police Department was alerted to reports of an unconscious man at the fast-food restaurant.

Officers said they found a 22-year-old man dead in the driver's seat of a gray sedan and a Taco Bell employee told police the vehicle had been parked in the lot for at least a day, according to CBS affiliate KOLN.

Lincoln Police said there were no obvious signs of foul play and launched an investigation.

That same month, a man and dog were found dead inside a truck outside an Indiana pet store.

Greenfield Police Department (GPD) officers found the bodies outside a PetSmart on Barrett Drive.

Detectives have since launched an investigation into how the man and the dog ended up inside the truck.

A GPD spokesperson said: "A person walking by the truck noticed the man inside and called 911. Officers arrived and realized the man had been in the truck for possibly a few days and was obviously dead. A dog was also found dead in the truck.

"Due to being in the truck for what appears to be a few days, detectives and the Hancock County Coroner's Office will be working to determine the cause and manner of death. Video footage from nearby businesses will help determine when the man arrived in the parking lot."
