The internet has slammed a man who refuses to confess his affair to his wife, after she received a text from his supposed lover, detailing the sexual nature of their encounters.
In a post shared on Mumsnet on Saturday under the username Newuser1987, his wife wrote that she recently received a [direct message] on Instagram from a young woman claiming she slept with her husband a few weeks ago and thought she deserved to know.

Data collected daily for years from 95,000 people worldwide shows that about 70 percent of all Americans engage in at least some type of infidelity, with the percentage of marriages where partners are unfaithful reaching more than 18 to 20 percent.
The poster wrote: "She knows details about a birthmark on his chest and a tattoo on his ankle. But [my husband] wears shorts a lot so lots would have seen the ankle tattoo. He does talk about his birthmark as well so a lot of people know he has one.
"So I'm hoping that this is just someone stirring but wanted to post on here to get clarity and that I'm not just trying to comfort myself," the wife added.
The Mumsnet poster also wrote that she "can't exactly break up" with him over one set of messages from a random woman, because they have three kids together.
Karri Francisco, director of family programming at All Points North, a mind-body health company, told Newsweek that honesty in communication is key to a healthy relationship.
She said: "To cultivate a strong, healthy relationship and strengthen their connection, the couple should include vulnerability and honesty in communication, even if it may cause a rupture; this would allow the couple to repair and deepen their emotional intelligence within their relationship."
In further comments, the poster wrote that she did confront her husband in the end, and he kept denying it, even though his lover had provided her with loads of evidence, including dates that are "completely plausible."
The wife posted: "My gut tells me that there is more than what he is telling me and he's lying about something. Can I really break up my family over a gut feeling though?"
Most of the 507 comments in the thread also thought the poster should follow her instincts. One Mumsnet user Theunamedcat wrote: "Well if it walks like a duck..." while RewildingAmbridge pointed out: "What has she got to gain by lying to you?"
Another user PicturesOfDogs said: "I mean, you do occasionally get mad psychos who want to break up innocent families, but I'd wager the amount of men who cheat and then lie about it is exponentially higher. Sorry OP."
Newsweek was not able to verify the details of the case.
