Cardi B took to social media to troll fans asking about her race.

On April 18, Cardi B reacted to the top songs debut global list on Spotify as her new feature on "Shake It" featuring Bory300 by Kay Flock and Dougie B. The reaction lead to a fan asking a question about her race.

Quoting the tweet, the fan wrote, "girl are u black" to which Cardi sarcastically tweeted, "No.....I'm Irish and Yugoslavian." Many fans found the rapper's tweets amusing.

Another Twitter user responded to Cardi B's tweet.

"I find it so weird that you've never answered this question out right. Everytime Someone ask you about race you start giving nationalities and/or making jokes. Can't even say I'm black' but can yell 'N****' in Every song with ease," the user wrote.

In a now-deleted tweet, Cardi B quote-retweeted with, "Because I'm Mexican."

In a 2018 interview with CR Fashion Book, she opened up about her ethnicity.

"One thing that always bothers me is that people know so little about my culture. We are Caribbean people," she tells Zendaya, "And a lot of people be attacking me because they feel like I don't be saying that I'm black. Some people want to decide if you're black or not, depending on your skin complexion, because they don't understand Caribbean people or our culture."

"I don't got to tell you that I'm black. I expect you to know it," she added.

In an Instagram live, Cardi B discusses how people "love to hate her."

"Motherf**kers wake up in the morning like 'Oh my God, Cardi has not posted nothing today what am I gonna hate on?' When I don't post nothing at all motherf**kers make s**t up about me," she said.

In regards to the Twitter post, many fans ran to Cardi B's defense.

"I find it weird that you care so much about how other people perceive themselves. Worry bout ya self," one user said.

"She's actually gone out of her way to explain it multiple times...when she doesn't have to explain her race," said another. "A quick google search (or even Twitter) will help you out."

"She's been answering it for years and making videos about it. Just because you ain't see it don't mean she gotta keep repeating that s**t. It's beyond ridiculous atp hence her sarcasm," said another defensive fan.

"i could never be a celebrity. the obsession ppl have with race is annoying. how many times does she have to say it?! also, a simple research could end your curiosity," one Twitter user said.
