Indian Matchmaking is the latest dating show from Netflix, which sees Mumbai matchmaker Sima Taparia traveling around the world to help Indian clients find love. One of the most successful matches seems to be between New Jersey-based event planner Nadia Jagessar and Chicago lawyer Shekar Jayaraman.
After things do not work out between Shekar and his previous match, Houston attorney Aparna, Sima sets him up with Nadia, who had previously been ghosted twice by gym CFO Vinay Chadda. After Shekar takes Nadia and her mother on a boat ride, the pair seem to approve of him, and the pair then seem to have a lot in common when they meet one-on-one.
Indian Matchmaking on Netflix was filmed last year, leaving viewers wondering whether Nadia and Shekar are still together after their initial spark on the show.

However, fans hoping for love are going to be disappointed, as it seems like Nadia and Shekar were unable to make it work. Despite both being fairly active on Instagram, they do not follow each other and have not shared any pictures of them together.
Nadia also revealed to the L.A. Times that she was no longer talking to Shekar. "Being off-camera definitely changed the dynamic between myself and the matches that I had continued talking to, and obviously, the change was not positive," she said. "But it helped me learn more about myself and what I'm looking for in a future partner."
In fact, one year later, none of the couples from the first season of the dating show were able to make it work off of the camera. Series creator Smriti Mundhara said of this to L.A. Times: "The means are more important than the end. There's something fascinating about watching people go through this process, and seeing what it revealed to people about themselves, about their own expectations, and about the way the tradition of arranged marriage is changing."
Nadia may have not found love with Shekar on Indian Matchmaking, but she has been a breakout star of the show, with many men taking to Twitter to express that they would like their chance to woo the event planner.
One, for example, wrote: "Yaar someone connect me to Nadia Jagessar and tell her I'm game? Lol I even have Guyanese family and Indian ancestry and can dance the Guyanese desi dance they do at parties."
One person not impressed by Nadia, however, is one of her onscreen dates. After the show claimed that Vinay ghosted her, he took to Instagram to say that actually she had ghosted him. In a thread, he said: "The meeting dinner with her friends never happened. I was the one left heartbroken and ghosted."
Indian Matchmaking is streaming now on Netflix.
