Indiana Amber Alert for Missing Teen Girl Madison Eddlemon Believed to Be With 'Armed and Dangerous' Suspect

Officials in Indiana have declared a statewide Amber Alert for missing 16-year-old Madison Elizabeth Yancy Eddlemon.

Eddlemon, who is from Lake County, was last seen on Saturday morning around 9 a.m. in Crown Point. At the time, she was wearing a black hoodie featuring tribal designs and ripped blue jeans, The Indianapolis Star reported. She also wore a black lace choker and shin-high boots.

The teenager stands at about 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 97 pounds. Police have warned that Eddlemon is believed to be in "extreme danger."

Martin Alexander Curry-Fishtorn, 22, has been named as the suspect in the teenager's disappearance, according to Indianapolis television station FOX 59. The suspect has been described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 158 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Curry-Fishtorn drives a gray 2009 Chevy Cobalt with the license plate number 645RIS.

Crown Point, where Eddlemon is from, is located about 138 miles northwest of Indianapolis. Anyone with information or tips regarding the girl's disappearance and the suspect's whereabouts has been asked to contact the Lake County Sheriff's Office, which is leading the investigation at this time. "I just want her home and safe," Nichole Cain, Eddlemon's mother, told The Times of Northwest Indiana. "If anyone knows anything, please call the police. I want my daughter back. That's all I want."

The young girl's car was found empty in the early hours of Saturday morning, according to the newspaper. At this time, it is unclear whether she was taken by force or went with the suspect voluntarily. Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. explained that the teenager was first reported as having run away, but now is believed to be with Curry-Fishtorn. The sheriff described Curry-Fishtorn as "armed and dangerous."

Cain said that her daughter and the suspect had been in a relationship, which ended after it was discovered by the parents. The girl's mother said that the man had been abusive and controlling toward her child. Eddlemon's parents notified the police about Curry-Fishtorn after he allegedly began to stalk and harass their daughter back in March. They also filed a no-contact order the same month.

Authorities said that Curry-Fishtorn may be driving west and attempting to leave Indiana. The man also has an active criminal case against him for charges of invasion of privacy and stalking, according to the Sheriff Martinez.
