Trompita, a Jack Russell terrier from Argentina, is winning hearts all over the world with her TikTok account.
In her most popular video so far, with over 31.6 million views, Trompita has a nasty prank played on her. In the clip, captioned "Es una injusticia... me tienen a dieta", or "It's an injustice... they have me on a diet," in English, Trompita watches as her owner opens a McDonald's box containing a Big Mac. Trompita's got her own Big Mac box, but when her owner opens it for her, it's not big at all—and Trompita's not amused.

Trompita was adopted in Tucuman, Argentina by Juan Pablo Alderete in 2016, according to the Argentinian newspaper La Gaceta. Alderete is a graphic designer who set up her TikTok account, where she's got quite the following with over 700,000 followers.
Most of her videos have hundreds of thousands of views, with a few tipping over past the million mark. Another clip with over 31.3 million views also focuses on her diet.

In the clip, Trompita thinks she's going to get delicious Cheetos from the bag of junk food. When her owner instead pulls out a large leaf of lettuce, Trompita acts the same as with the tiny burger, growling at it, baring her teeth.

Though the Big Mac video is hilarious, it also happens to illustrate what a 2008 study found. Published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the study suggested that dogs understood the concept of injustice. In the study, researchers led by Friederike Range from the University of Vienna in Austria, would pair off dogs and ask them to do the same trick—shaking hands.
When no treats were offered at all, the dogs were both happy to perform the trick. But in trials where one dog was given a treat for shaking hands, while the other dog wasn't, the dogs not given the treat would hesitate to shake hands and eventually stop.
Other animals have also been suggested to recognize injustice. A similar 2003 study by Sarah Brosnan with monkeys also saw the creatures act insulted when given a worse treat than another monkey for doing the same action.
Crows who saw another crow get a reward for doing nothing while they were only given the reward for completing a task would stop performing the task, according to a 2013 study published in PLOS ONE.
In a 2015 study published in Frontiers in Neuroscience, rats were given a choice to perform an action that would give them and a partner rat treats or an action that would only give themselves the treat. The rats would significantly more often choose the action that rewarded both rats.
Trompita's fans were pretty much all on her side in the comments.
