Making mash potato can be laborious, however one woman on TikTok has gone viral with her hack which makes it easy work.
Lora McLaughlin Peterson, a lifestyle expert known on the app as Lorafied, shared her method to speedily prep potatoes on November 18, along with the caption: "Just in time for the holidays!"
Peterson, who has more than 39,500 followers on TikTok, then added the hashtags: "#potatopeeler #potatohacks #peelingpotatoes #fyp #fy #foryou #kitchenhacks #kitchentrick #cookinghacks #potatohack."
But what exactly is cooking hack?
Well, the viral video begins with Peterson standing in her kitchen, wearing a white apron while brandishing a bowl of mash potato.
She tells the camera: "I have a hack you're not going to believe. Take a bag of unpeeled potatoes and cook like normal."
We then see her using kitchen tongs to remove the vegetables from a pot of boiling water. Next, she instructs viewers: "Grab a bowl and put a baking rack on top."
The savvy cook cuts the potatoes in half and then puts them on the rack, skin up, before applying pressure.
She explains: "The rack mashes the potato while leaving the skin behind. Season like normal, and you're ready to eat."
