Cats are like babies to their owners, and sometimes they do identify as such, too. A cat called Kingston has left the internet in stitches as his mom shared a clip of him appropriating all of the items she bought for her baby.

In the viral clip shared on TikTok on Thursday, under the username @kingstonthekitten, the Persian chinchilla can be seen lying on the baby's crib, on the stroller, and the swing rocker. He looks right at his mom's face as if to say that it all belongs to him.

The hilarious post comes with a caption that reads: "Pov [Point of view]: your cat thinks all the new baby items are for him." It is followed by: "He's in for a shock..." The clip already has had nearly 1 million views within a day.

Whether cats know that their owner is pregnant is still being debated by experts, but the most realistic answer is that they probably don't.

However, while your cat may not recognize that you are pregnant, they definitely do know that something is up with you because they can sense that you are different, according to Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey.

"Are you preoccupied with painting and furnishing the nursery? Feeling tired or unwell? And perhaps you were always the one to keep the litter box clean, and now someone new is in charge of scooping? When your routine gets disrupted, so does your cat's, and most cats clearly disapprove of non-feline-authorized schedule changes," the Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital website says.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 181,000 likes on the platform.

One user, Les Sultanas, commented: "He fits in everything so it's obviously for him." Braintransplat posted: "Should the baby crib have the mattress on level 2 for a newborn?"

Chelseamkelly wrote: "This is my youngest and oldest cat to a tea. Have to investigate everything. Now my middle cat, won't go near anything." And thenicethingsfairy posted: "He's just checking they are all fit for purpose.... Honest."

Another user, persianhairball, commented: "He's doing quality control for the baby. Making sure it's comfy." And Peachy wrote: "My Binx SPRINTS into the baby room as soon as I open the door to go in there."
