Ivanka Trump's role in her father's golf courses has come under renewed scrutiny as she is set to take the stand in a civil trial in New York about the valuation of former President Donald Trump's assets.

Testimony from Ivanka Trump, who is the former president's eldest daughter, was postponed on Monday and will now take place after her father appears on the witness stand.

New York Attorney General Letitia James has accused Trump of misrepresenting the value of his assets by hundreds of millions. James is seeking a fine of $250 million and a ban on Trump doing business in New York. The former president has pleaded not guilty and has denied any wrongdoing in the case.

Ivanka Trump is a former executive vice president at the Trump Organization and was initially named as a defendant in the fraud case. An appeals court then ruled to dismiss her from the lawsuit because the claims against her were outside the statute of limitations.

However, Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that she must testify in person last Friday.

A report from Forbes on Monday raised questions about Ivanka Trump's role in promoting her father's properties and pointed to a meeting in 2015 where three Forbes reporters met Trump and his daughter at Trump Tower in New York.

Ivanka Trump spoke to those reporters about the Trump National Doral Miami golf resort in Florida, according to Forbes. The publication reported that she made comments about the resort that were at odds with other available information. Trump National Doral Miami is one of the properties involved in the New York lawsuit.

The Trumps told the reporters that Forbes' valuation of Doral as $225 million before debt was too low, with the former president saying: "We'll make $75 million this year." The property earned $14 million that year.

Ivanka Trump also told the reporters that Doral had "150,000 square feet of meeting space", more than the space mentioned in the Trump Organization's materials, which said "over 90,000 square feet of meeting space."

She also cited an estimate from another Forbes reporter that the property was worth around $1 billion. However, the magazine said on Monday that the reporter in question had fallen for "a classic trick of the Trumps who had a habit of noting the per-acre price of a smaller parcel and throwing out a puffed-up number of acres." By doing so, the Trumps could make a property appear more valuable, according to Forbes.

Ivanka Trump also said that there was no debt on the property, despite a $125 million Deutsche Bank debt, and added later in the conversation that the interest on a $106 million mortgage was 1.75 percent.

However, Forbes reported that the interest rate was 1.75 percent plus LIBOR, which brought it to 2.1 percent in 2015, citing an income statement from the Trump Organization.

Forbes noted that an attorney for Ivanka Trump had not responded to their request for comment and an attorney for the Trump Organization had not replied to a list of questions.
