There have been further developments in the New York civil fraud trial against Donald Trump, with the former president's daughter Ivanka Trump set to testify on November 8.

The trial stems from a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James in 2022, accusing the 77-year-old and top executives at the Trump Organization of conspiring to increase his net worth by billions of dollars on financial statements provided to banks and insurers to make deals and secure loans. Trump has denied any wrongdoing and has called the trial politically motivated.

Newsweek has reached out to Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump for comment via email.

The business mogul's oldest two sons—Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump—are co-defendants in the case and are set to testify, but now Ivanka Trump has also been called to the stand. According to comedian Seth Meyers, the news likely has Trump "freaked out."

"The judge has ruled that Trump's daughter Ivanka will have to testify as well," the 49-year-old said during Late Night with Seth Meyers on October 30.

"You know, Trump is freaked out about Ivanka having to testify, because she seems like she might actually know s***. I have to believe she is the only child Trump trusted to do actual business."

In the "A Closer Look" segment, Meyers poked fun at Eric Trump's new beard, joking that the 39-year-old was "covering his face in Rogaine" (a medication used to treat pattern hair loss) while Ivanka was busy "crunching numbers."

Meanwhile, Meyers said that Donald Trump Jr. was "out sitting on that stump," referencing the awkward photo of the 45-year-old taken in the woods in 2017 that became a meme.

"Ivanka taking the stand is bad for Trump, because she's the only one that can actually stand," Meyers continued, before jumping to a photograph of Trump with Ivanka, Eric and Donald Jr.

"I mean, look at this," he told the audience. "She's the only one with anything close to normal posture.

"Why do the rest of them stand like they forgot to take the hanger out of their shirts. They all look like they're trying to hide something under their jackets."

The New York civil trial is one of several active legal cases against Trump. In June, the ex-president was charged with defying a subpoena ordering him to give back classified national security documents held in his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

In August, Trump was charged with four counts in the District of Columbia related to his voter fraud claims, followed by a suit in Georgia over alleged attempts to overturn Joe Biden's 2020 general election win.

The former president has also been charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, in an attempt to hide secret payments to Stormy Daniels, the adult film star who claims to have had a brief affair with Trump in 2006. Trump has denied the accusations, both of falsifying records and the reported fling with Daniels, 44.

Ivanka Trump is the real estate magnate's second child with his late ex-wife Ivana Trump. Along with Ivanka, Eric and Donald Trump Jr. with Ivana Trump, The Apprentice star also shares daughter Tiffany Trump, 30, with second wife Marla Maples and Barron, 17, with current wife Melania Trump.

A businesswoman and entrepreneur, Ivanka Trump was formerly an executive vice president at the Trump Organization. The 42-year-old was also active during her father's presidential campaign run in 2016 and acted as an adviser during his time in the White House.
