Actor Jamie Foxx has been slapped with a lawsuit that has accused him of sexual assault and battery.
The case was filed in the New York Supreme Court on Monday over an alleged incident at the Catch NYC restaurant in 2015.
The plaintiff who is only identified as Jane Doe in the legal paperwork claimed Foxx "intentionally and without consent used force to offensively touch Plaintiff's person," including her genitalia and buttocks. She claimed to have suffered "physical and emotional injuries, anxiety, distress, embarrassment and economic harm," following the incident and is seeking an unspecified amount.
In the legal papers, the woman said Foxx—who won an Oscar for his performance as pianist Ray Charles in the 2004 film Ray—seemed "intoxicated" at the time of the incident.

Newsweek contacted Foxx's representatives by email for comment.
The woman claimed Catch Hospitality Group co-founder Mark Birnbaum was seated "one table away having drinks" when she approached Foxx's table to ask for a photo.
She claimed Foxx said, "Sure baby, anything for you," and they posed together for several pictures.
Foxx then allegedly complimented her on her "supermodel body" and took her by the arm to a secluded part of the restaurant where he "placed both of his hands on her waist, moved them under her 'crop top' and began rubbing her breasts."
Doe claimed Foxx proceeded to slide his hands into her pants and touched her vagina and anus, including penetrating both areas.
She said following the incident she was "injured [and] was rendered sick, sore, lame and disabled; [and] was caused to undergo medical treatment and advice."
Doe added she "was unable to pursue her usual and regular activities; was caused to undergo great conscious pain and suffering, continues to undergo such, and will permanently be affected by the injuries and emotional distress she incurred as a result of the sexual assault, abuse, assault and battery."
The plaintiff is also suing the restaurant's parent company Catch Hospitality Group and various related business entities for negligent hiring, training and supervision.
Foxx did not respond to the lawsuit publicly, instead posting a video to Instagram showing him throwing a football into a basketball hoop. He later switched the comments off on the post.
A number of high-profile lawsuits have been filed ahead of New York City's deadline for the New York's Adult Survivors Act. The law allows adult sexual abuse survivors to sue perpetrators, even if the statute of limitations had expired. The law was enacted in November 2022 and will finish at the end of this month.
Casandra "Cassie" Ventura filed a lawsuit in New York on November 16 against former boyfriend and music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, accusing him of multiple crimes over a 10-year period including rape, sex trafficking and domestic violence. They settled the case a day later.
