Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde's nanny drama could positively affect their careers, a brand strategist tells Newsweek.

The former couple—who had been together for nearly a decade prior to their breakup and share kids Otis, 8, and Daisy, 6—were called out by their former nanny in a report published by the Daily Mail.

The unnamed nanny anonymously claimed that their relationship ended after the Don't Worry Darling director began dating co-star Harry Styles.

The nanny said Sudeikis was "blind-sided" by their romance and displayed drunken behavior after discovering messages between them before firing her in a fit of rage.

During one alleged incident, Wilde, 38, prepared a salad to enjoy with Styles, 28, using her "special" dressing. Sudeikis, 47, became so "infuriated" that he placed himself in front of her vehicle so she couldn't leave.

Sudeikis and Wilde were quick to deny the allegations.

"As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly," they said in a joint statement obtained by Newsweek.

"Her now 18 month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone."

Christine Perkett, CEO of Mindfull Marketing + PR, told Newsweek that the exes' statement was "a show of solidarity during an otherwise tumultuous time," noting the move was "smart."

"Bravo to them for putting their children first and addressing this together as co-parents. Rumors are short-lived, but their children will always know they stood together on this topic," Perkett said.

"I think the claims will help their careers vs. hurt them. They are both at the top of their game with current projects, and the nanny's statements were vague and petty, which makes it seem like someone who is just trying to produce financial gain or five minutes of fame by taking advantage of two people who trusted her," the brand strategist continued.

"There is no shame in being sad (or even erratic) about a breakup, and I think the reports only help reiterate the beloved 'Ted Lasso' and his real life. People like to see celebrities seem 'human' from time to time and they have been consistent with their report that their marriage was over before Styles entered the picture."

The pair first met in May 2011 while attending a Saturday Night Live wrap party following the show's season 36 finale in New York City. Wilde met Styles while she was directing him in Don't Worry Darling. Filming began in Los Angeles in October 2020.

Despite rumors of overlap between the romances, Wilde shut down the narrative in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, calling the speculation "complete horses**t."

Perkett concluded that, despite the drama, "This gives them a united front to stand on, allowing them to turn the tide on this ongoing saga (their split) altogether."
