The Legally Blonde star was up against some big names in the category including, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, Natasha Rothwell, Sydney Sweeney, Kaitlyn Dever and Mare Winningham.

"Thank you! Gosh, what a night! I just want to say to my fellow nominees, just to be in your company, it's incredible," Coolidge started.

She then told the star-studded crowd that she had taken a lavender bath before the ceremony and "it made me swell up inside my dress."

"I'm having a hard time speaking. Anyway, this is so thrilling!" she continued.

The actress tried to thank the show's producers but the orchestra started playing music.

Coolidge persevered: "This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I'm full, I'm full! Okay..." she went on as the DJ began playing Ray Charles' "Hit the Road Jack."

"Wait, hold on. Wait, hold on..." she pleaded, before deciding to hilariously boogie to the music.

The audience broke into a thunderous applause at the impromptu moment as Twitter loved Coolidge's dance.

"Jennifer Coolidge deciding to dance when the #Emmys attempted to play her off is a truly perfect moment," wrote one fan.

Another added: "Jennifer Coolidge's acceptance speech at the #Emmys2022 is worthy of an Emmy in itself."

And a third wrote: "Okay, but all we needed to do was cut one of the announcers terrible jokes and Jennifer Coolidge could have finished her speech."

Coolidge won the Emmy for portraying Tanya McQuoid in the first season of The White Lotus, a rich woman who traveled to the luxury Maui resort to spread her dead mother's ashes but instead found herself and love with fellow guest Greg (Jon Gries).

The actress and Gries are seemingly the only stars returning for Season Two, which will be set in Sicily with a different set of characters.

Creator Mike White plans to set the anthology drama series in a different fictional White Lotus resort each season.

Coolidge has spoken about her return to the second season and explained it felt "completely different" and was "almost like a different show."

"It's even more complicated than the first one," she told Deadline.

Coolidge also spoke about how much she enjoyed the show's creator writes roles for women.

"He writes great roles for women. I witnessed that over in Italy. It wasn't just the scenes I was in but any scene I happened to be around for," Coolidge explained.

A release date for The White Lotus'ssecond season has yet to be revealed but it is likely to air October, 2022.

Coolidge and Gries join newcomers Aubrey Plaza, Sabrina Impacciatore, Will Sharpe, Theo James, and Meghann Fahy.

Season 2 of The White Lotus will also include F. Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli, Adam DiMarco, Tom Hollander, Haley Lu Richardson, and Leo Woodall.

The White Lotus season one is available to watch on HBO Max.
