President Joe Biden's campaign has joined former President Donald Trump's social media, Truth Social, and has begun making critical posts about the Republican frontrunner.
The Biden-Harris HQ account on X, formerly Twitter, shared a screenshot from a Fox News article on Monday about the campaign joining Truth Social and included a link to the site.
"We just joined Truth Social, mostly because we thought it would be very funny," Biden-Harris HQ, the campaign's digital rapid response team, posted on X.

"Follow us there for truths and retruths or whatever they call them," the post added and included a link to the new Truth Social account.
Former President Trump has used Truth Social as his primary social network since February 2022, about a year after his Twitter account was suspended following the January 6 Capitol riot "due to the risk of further incitement of violence," the company said at the time.
Before the new account was launched, Fox News Digital reported on the Biden campaign's decision and quoted an unnamed senior campaign aide.
"There's very little 'truth' happening on Truth Social, but at least now it'll be a little fun," the aide said.
The first post from Biden's Truth Social read: "Well. Let's see how this goes. Converts welcome!" and the account description says: "Just the facts, Jack. A project of Biden-Harris 2024."
Newsweek has reached out to the Trump campaign via email for comment.
The new Biden social media account had 14,700 followers as of early Tuesday morning. That compares to Trump's Truth Social account, which currently has 6.43 million followers.

Truth Social is owned by the Trump Media & Technology Group and the former president has billed it as an alternative to X.
Since it is owned by a Trump company, the former president was at little risk of suspension and used the platform to strongly criticize public figures such as Special Counsel Jack Smith and General Mark Milley, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Trump was permanently suspended from Twitter following the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. The social media company was subsequently acquired by billionaire Elon Musk, and Trump's account was reinstated in November 2022.
He remains the leading candidate for the GOP's 2024 presidential nomination and Biden's most likely opponent in next year's election.
Biden's Truth Social account uses an image of Biden with laser eyes—a reference to the "Dark Brandon" meme that the president's team has embraced, particularly on social media. The term "Let's go Brandon" was originally used an insult directed at Biden but his campaign has tried to subvert the meme's original meaning.
The account's header image shows the slogan "Malarkey ends here" on a black background, while both images are the same as those used by Biden-Harris HQ on its X account
The account has posted a number of videos showing other Republicans offering criticism of Trump as well as videos targeting Trump directly for recent and past comments. Other videos highlighted comments made by others in the GOP.
The content on Monday was largely the same as what Biden-Harris HQ had shared to X during the same period.
