Joe Rogan Cusses Out People Anxious About Roe v. Wade: 'Show Up at Work'

Joe Rogan's response to people who say they are anxious about Roe v. Wade is poised to become his latest viral controversy.

A clip from Rogan's wildly popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, showed him taking aim at citizens worried about the Supreme Court's preparation to overturn Roe v. Wade. If the Court's majority draft opinion leaked on May 2 becomes final, 13 states would immediately outlaw abortion through "trigger laws." In total, policy experts at the Guttmacher Institute have estimated that 26 states are certain or likely to move quickly toward banning abortion.

The excerpt from Rogan's podcast has circulated broadly through social media in recent days. One tweet sharing the clip on May 14 has reached 237,000 views.

In the video, Rogan used a petulant voice to ridicule those who expressed a "high level of anxiety."

"You know, it's this Roe v. Wade thing, I saw it in the news and I need a mental health day," he said mockingly. Switching to his normal voice, he responded, "F*** you. Show up at work. Show up at work and work harder. Get the f*** out of here."

Earlier this month, the controversial UFC commentator and comedian surprised some listeners by stating that he was "100 percent in favor of a woman's right to choose." Rogan has been criticized in the past for allegedly spreading misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccines. Videos of him using the N-word and other racial slurs on The Joe Rogan Experience also drew public outrage earlier this year.

Even Rogan's fans were disturbed by his mockery of abortion rights supporters, as they discussed in a Reddit forum dedicated to the podcaster.

"I've never commented on this sub before," said one comment. "But as a listener since 2013 what the f*** happened to this man, he is a different person in all the worst ways."

Another pointed out the hypocrisy of Rogan's remarks on Roe v. Wade supporters after his insistence on mental health and "bodily autonomy" during the pandemic.

"Joe during COVID: 'Mental health is extremely important, we need everything open! And the government telling you what to do with your body by forcing vaccines is authoritarian!'" the listener wrote.

In contrast, they summarized his latest stance. "Joe during SC overturning Roe v. Wade: 'Lol f*** you and your mental health, just work you stupid cog. And the government telling you what to do with your body is no big deal you p**sies!'"
