In the wake of his successful defamation suit, actor Johnny Depp once again thanked supporters after receiving a painted portrait from a fan.

On Wednesday, a jury in Virginia found in favor of Depp, who said that his ex-wife Amber Heard's claims that she was physically abused by him were false and defamatory. The trial drew a range of strong reactions online, with supporters of Depp backing his own claims to have been abused physically and emotionally by Heard.

In a tweet from Sunday, artist Scott Greenwood presented a portrait of Depp that he had painted. Included in the tweet were pro-Depp hashtags, like #JohnnyDeppIsInnocent, and a video message from the actor once again thanking his fans for their support.

"Nothing would have been possible without you," Depp said in the video. "Thank you and bless you all."

Heard, an actor best known as Mera in the Aquaman film series, was married to Depp from 2015 to 2017 and, since their marriage ended, has claimed to have been physically abused by him. She published an op-ed in The Washington Post in December 2018 discussing her history with domestic violence, alluding to but never actually naming Depp. The piece became the focal point of Depp's eventual defamation claims against her.

"The disappointment I feel today is beyond words," Heard wrote in a statement following the verdict. "I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband. I'm even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated."

Depp released his own statement following the verdict, celebrating his victory and thanking the jury.

"Six years ago, my life, the life of my children, the lives of those closest to me, and also, the lives of people, who for many, many years have supported and believed in me were forever changed." Depp's statement read. "And after six years, the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled."

As part of the verdict, Depp was awarded $10.35 million in damages—$10 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages. Despite her ex-husband having the more high-profile victory, Heard was also found to have been defamed by comments made by Depp lawyer Adam Waldman. For that, she was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages and none in punitive damages.
