Kari Lake has cheered on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's showdown with President Joe Biden's administration over immigration enforcement.
"I STAND WITH TEXAS! Is @JoeBiden seriously going to try and take down the razor wire & other barriers @GregAbbott_TX has put up?" Lake wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday night.
Republicans in the U.S. Senate this week defeated a bipartisan border security bill that had taken months of negotiation. The legislation would have allowed the Department of Homeland Security to temporarily shut down the border to most migrants if there were an average of more than 5,000 crossing attempts per day over seven days.
Republicans are keen to put border security front and center ahead of the 2024 election.
Dozens of Republican governors have backed Abbott in his standoff with the Biden administration over the razor wire that Texas installed along a stretch of the border, one of several aggressive measures taken by Abbott to deter migrants from crossing into the U.S. illegally.
She wrote that she "can't wait" to watch Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton "go to battle with the Biden Regime in court.
"COME AND TAKE IT!" Lake added.

Lake, a Republican, is currently campaigning for a U.S. Senate seat, though she never conceded she lost the 2022 race for Arizona governor to Democrat Katie Hobbs.
Her campaign has been contacted for comment via its website. The White House has been contacted for comment via email.
Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court allowed Border Patrol agents to resume cutting the wire, which the Justice Department argued impedes the U.S. government's ability to patrol the border and go to the aid of migrants in need of help.
Abbott remained defiant despite the high court's ruling, saying Texas had a "constitutional right to self-defense."

He gathered with more than a dozen Republican governors at the border on February 4 and said he would continue expanding operations along the border.
In a recent interview, Lake suggested that Abbott turn "off the utilities" and "bulldoze the roads" to deny federal agents access to the border.
"One of the things that Greg Abbott should do as the federal government tries to prevent him from protecting his citizens from an invasion is he's got the ability to turn on and off the utilities that these wherever these federal folks are, are set up," she said.
"Bulldoze the roads going in to wherever the federal agents who are trying to stop them are."
Lake's X account on Saturday also shared a post responding to the Arizona Democratic Party issuing a press release to draw attention to those comments.
"Texas MUST defend themselves!" the post said. "Well... COME AND TAKE IT!"
