'Kena: Bridge of Spirits' Guide: How to Solve the Fishing Shrine Puzzle

As part of the Taro questline in Kena: Bridge of Spirits you will need to reignite three shrines in the Forgotten Forest region. While the puzzles associated with these altars are largely straightforward, the fishing shrine can stump players if they miss a vital clue.

To help you solve it, Newsweek has prepared the following guide.

'Kena: Bridge of Spirits' Fishing Shrine Puzzle Location

The shrine in question is situated on a small island, northeast of the sacred tree. You should come across this about two hours into the main story. If you have not already found it, then its location is marked on the map below.

When you stand in the center of this shrine, you will notice that you are surrounded by four stone slabs to the north, east, south and west compass points (you might need to check the map to figure out which one is which, as you will probably not be facing north). The one to the east is slightly elevated above the rest.

Each of these slabs has a blue crystal embedded into them. By now, you should have learned that you can shoot these sapphire-like minerals with your spirit bow to power them up.

Your first inclination will naturally be to activate all four crystals that encircle the island, but if you do it in the wrong order than this will trigger a wave of enemies and you will have to start the whole process all over again.

What Is the Order for Lighting the Crystals?

To successfully complete the archery puzzle, you will need to activate the crystals in the correct sequence, but the game does not explicitly spell out how to do this.

If you look at the base of the fishing shrine, you will notice that there are four sets of candles. There is one on its own, a pair, a trio and a group of four.

When you shoot a crystal with your spirit bow, this will cause one of these candle sets to ignite. What you will need to do is shoot each crystal to figure out which candle set it is linked to.

Once you have matched the crystals to their candle sets, you will then need to shoot them so that the candles are lit in ascending order. In other words, you need to light the solitary candle first, followed by the pair, then the trio and, finally, the set of four.

In our playthrough, the crystal we needed to shoot first was the elevated one to the east. Then, we shot the one directly opposite it to the west, followed by the one to the south and then, finally, the one to the north. The slideshow below will show you them in order.

Once the candle sets are all lit, use Kena's shield pulse (L1 on PlayStation) to activate the fishing shrine itself.
