Khloe Kardashian Fans Call Tristan Thompson's Paternity Apology 'Embarrassing'

Tristan Thompson has apologized to Khloe Kardashian after a DNA test proved he is the father to fitness instructor Maralee Nichols' son—and the reality TV star's fans have a lot to say about the situation.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has been in an on-off relationship with basketball star Thompson and the couple has been making headlines in recent weeks amid an ongoing paternity lawsuit filed by Nichols, claiming Thompson is the father of her newborn child.

Court documents, per Page Six, have shown that Thompson admitted to sleeping with Nichols in March 2021 while he was dating Kardashian. Thompson and Kardashian share a 3-year-old daughter, True.

Now as of Monday, Thompson issued an apology after a paternity test revealed he is indeed the father of Nichols' son who was born on December 1, 2021.

"You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you," Thompson wrote in a statement shared on Instagram which addressed Kardashian directly.

The 30-year-old Sacramento Kings player said he was "incredibly sorry" for his actions.

"Today, paternity test results revealed that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols," he wrote in an Instagram story on Monday. "I take full responsibility for my actions.

"Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son. I sincerely apologize to everyone I've hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately."

He continued, addressing Kardashian: "Khloe, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you.

"You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry."

The reality star is yet to comment publicly on the situation. Thompson has admitted to cheating on Kardashian several times, including when the 37-year-old was pregnant with True in 2018.

Following his apology today, Kardashian fans have been tweeting about the situation, leading to her name becoming a trending topic on Twitter.

"Everybody knew Tristan Thompson fathered a new baby, except Khloe," reads one viral tweet.

While another post with 12,000 likes reads: "Tristan Thompson be playing Khloe better than he plays his own damn sport."

Another person addressing Thompson, tweeted: "Okay then stop doing it??? Like wtf we supposed to do with this bro??"

"It's embarrassing he just didn't admit it and had to rely on a test after claiming it wasn't his. It just made it worse for him," said another.

Another viral tweet, with almost 25,000 likes, reads: "I have never seen somebody hate another person the way Tristan Thompson truly hates Khloe Kardashian."
