Kim Kardashian has had a huge breakthrough in her divorce from Kanye West. The beauty and fashion icon first filed for divorce in February 2021, and in December last year she requested the judge declare her "legally single."
Now, the divorce is one step closer to being finalized after a Los Angeles judge granted her wish to be officially single on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Superior Court Judge Steve Cochran also granted Kardashian's request to drop the "West" from her married name, Kim Kardashian West.
So, what's next for Kim Kardashian now that she is legally single? Alongside co-parenting her four young children (North, Chicago, Saint, and Psalm) it seems Kardashian is throwing herself into her own interest and businesses.
Newsweek has everything you need to know.
What's Next For Kim Kardashian?
The Kardashians on Hulu
For the next few months, Kardashian is set to be pretty busy in the lead-up to the premiere of Hulu's new reality series, The Kardashians.
The highly-anticipated series will premiere on Thursday, April 14 with episodes airing weekly on the streaming platform.
The new series will have more of a focus on the professional life of the family, including their business ventures and Kim Kardashian's legal studies as well as the drama of their personal lives from Kylie Jenner's pregnancy to Kardashian's divorce.
Relaunching KKW Beauty
Back in summer 2021, Kardashian announced KKW Beauty [Kim Kardashian West] would temporarily be "ceasing operations" from August 1, 2021. The company was founded in 2017 and specializes in make-up, body beauty products, and some iconic collections.
In an Instagram post, Kardashian thanked customers for "being on this incredible journey."
The statement from the KKW Beauty teamed teased: "We're currently away working on a new, more modern, elevated and sustainable brand and customer experience—the way Kim has always envisioned."
Now that West has been dropped from her name, hopefully, fans of KKW Beauty will hear some good news about the rebrand soon.
Skims Success
In 2019, Kim Kardashian launched the shapewear brand Skims with fashion executive Jens Grede.
Since then, Kardashian's brand has gone from strength to strength and she has no plan of slowing down.
As of January 2022, Skims doubled in valuation to $3.2 billion, reported Bloomberg and Kardashian recently dropped a new Spring collection for customers to enjoy.
In her "Fits Everybody" underwear collection, Kardashian has opted to use two earthy shades, Khaki and Marine, and fans have been falling in love with the items if the Skims Instagram account is anything to go buy.
Customers have flooded to the comment section under posts of the collection, describing the items as "perfect," "so pretty" and "the comfiest".
Kardashian also launched a Team USA clothing line for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and the upcoming Paralympic Games including a range of sleepwear, underwear and loungewear.
Law School Continues
Kardashian is still working hard to get that law degree and one day, may be able to practice as an attorney in the state of California.
In 2019, Kardashian enrolled in a Law Office Study Program (LOSP), a law school alternative offered in California after coming across the story of Alice Marie Johnson, a woman who was serving a life sentence for a first-time, non-violent drug offense.
Kardashian fought for Johnson's release and made it all the way to the White House in June 2020, where she successfully persuaded President Donald Trump to commute Johnson's sentence.
In August 2020, Trump, granted Johnson a full and unconditional pardon. Today, she lives as a free woman and works as a criminal justice reform advocate. Kardashian's fight for prison reform was also documented in Oxygen's Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project.
While many out there may have been skeptical of Kardashian's intentions to pursue law, after four attempts, Kardashian passed her First Year Law Student's Examination in December 2021. Known as the "baby bar exam," the test is the first big step before sitting the General Bar exam.
The baby bar exam pass rate stands at just 20.7 percent according to Vogue, compared to 50 percent for the General Bar.
Sharing her excitement about passing the exam, Kardashian posted on Instagram: "Looking in the mirror, I am really proud of the woman looking back today in the reflection.
"For anyone who doesn't know my law school journey, know this wasn't easy or handed to me. I failed this exam 3 times in 2 years, but I got back up each time and studied harder and tried again until I did it!!! (I did have COVID on the 3rd try w a 104 fever but I'm not making excuses)."
She added: "In California, the way I'm studying law you need to take 2 bar exams, this was just the first one but with the harder pass rate. I was told by top lawyers that this was a close to impossible journey and harder than the traditional law school route but it was my only option and it feels so so sooooo good to be here and on my way to achieving my goals."
Speaking to Vogue as part of Kardashian's February 2022 cover, Jessica Jackson—a Human Rights Attorney Kim is apprenticing for—shared: "She's doing law school in the hardest way possible. She really has to self-learn. She has to study 18 hours a week, only five of those hours with me."
Jackson also shared she believed Kardashian's path to studying law is much more difficult than her own, adding: "I wasn't trying to run a business, film a show, and raise four kids."
The Kardashians premiers on Hulu on Thursday, April 14.
