King Charles III's relationship with his elder granddaughter, Princess Charlotte, has become the focus of a new viral video, with fans praising the royals on TikTok.

Charlotte is the second child and only daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales and she celebrated her eighth birthday in May.

The princess has seen her public profile increase over the past year as her grandfather became king. She moved one position closer to the throne as third in the line of succession, and she attended important royal events, such as the coronation in May.

Getting an insight into King Charles' relationship with his grandchildren is rare, and royal fans are quick to spot any interactions at public events, often sharing them to social media, where they generate high numbers of views.

Uploaded to video sharing platform TikTok by user the_royal_famili8, one of the latest clips to go viral contains resurfaced footage from a royal Christmas concert in 2022.

Hosted by Kate, the Princess of Wales, the Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey took place on December 15 and included nearly all of the senior members of the royal family among its guest list.

Before the service took place, Kate, Prince William, Prince George and Charlotte were seen greeting King Charles and Queen Camilla as they arrived as guests of honor.

As seen in the TikTok clip, Charles greeted his family members with kisses to the cheek, including his granddaughter.

Captioned: "King Charles loves his granddaughter Charlotte so much," the video has been viewed over 600,000 times and gained in excess of 10,000 likes and numerous comments, many of which praised the king and princess.

"So sweet. Great love between royal grandfather and granddaughter 👑 ⭐️," wrote one TikTok user.

"🥰Love them all," posted another.

Charles has five grandchildren, Charlotte, George and Prince Louis from his elder son, Prince William, and Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet from Prince Harry.

Owing to the royal rift between the British based royals and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the U.S. the king has not been photographed with his Sussex grandchildren since their move.

His youngest granddaughter, Princess Lilibet, was born in California in 2021, and the king is believed to have only met her in person on one occasion, during the Sussex family's fleeting visit to Britain in June 2022 to mark Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee.

Following their meeting, a palace aide revealed that the king and Queen Camilla were "thrilled" to have met with the family.

"The prince [now King] of course hasn't seen his grandson Archie for a bit of time, so it was very, very special to have some time with him," the source said. "He hadn't met Lilibet, his granddaughter, so to meet her for the first time was very emotional and a very wonderful thing. I say that without any great surprise, What grandparent wouldn't think that was a good day all round."
