'The Kissing Booth 3' Release Date: When is the Sequel Coming Out?

The Kissing Booth 3 has been announced by Netflix, just days after the second movie in the franchise was released by the streaming service.

Netflix has also revealed that The Kissing Booth 3 has already been filmed, so Covid-19 will not lead to a delay in its release date.

Joey King and Joel Courtney, who plays Elle Evans and Lee Flynn in the series, announced the third Kissing Booth movie in a Twitter post.

When is The Kissing Booth 3 coming out?

The Kissing Booth 3 has been confirmed by Netflix to be coming next year. In a Twitter post, the streaming service wrote, "It's official! The Kissing Booth 3 is coming in 2021."

The reason that the third film in the franchise has been announced so soon after the release of The Kissing Booth 2 is that two and three were filmed at the same time in South Africa last year. This was revealed by the cast in a live YouTube event, in which King said: "It was the hardest secret to keep ever...in one day we'd be filming both."

The first Kissing Booth movie was released in May 2018, while the sequel arrived in late July 2020. As such, The Kissing Booth 3 could arrive as early as spring 2021. However, it is more likely that there will be at least a year between 2 and 3, suggesting the release date of the threequel will be in July or August 2021 on Netflix.

The film was revealed to be in post-production now, however, so it could be ready for an early spring release. An early release date could be possible if filming remains shut down for 2020, as Netflix may have no choice but to release the movie early to fill a gap in their release schedule caused by another of their shows or movies being unable to finish filming.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, actors Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Meganne Young, and Molly Ringwald will all be back. This means that Elle, Lee, Noah, Marco, Chloe, Rachel, and Mrs. Flynn will all be back for the upcoming sequel.

Deadline also revealed a plot synopsis for the upcoming movie: "The third installment picks up where the second one left off. It's the summer before Elle heads to college, and she has a secret decision to make. She has been accepted into Harvard, where boyfriend Noah is matriculating, and also Berkeley, where her BFF Lee (Noah's brother) is headed. Which path should she choose?"
