Kourtney Kardashian has been mocked online after she revealed on Tuesday that she has been made a "sustainability ambassador" for the fast-fashion brand, Boohoo.
While the Poosh founder has been vocal on social media about caring for the environment, there have been several instances where her environmentalist agenda have been squashed. Kardashian was most recently under fire after a report revealed that her home in Calabasas used 245 percent of its water budget in May, the fourth month it had gone over budget since water restrictions were introduced in December to battle the ongoing drought in California.
In addition, she and her other sisters were slammed for using several private jets for short flights—Kylie Jenner was most criticized for using a private jet for a three-minute flight.

Now, the news of her partnership with Boohoo—one of the most popular fast-fashion retail sites, which was recently under investigation for greenwashing—has been met with more criticism.
Fair fashion campaigner Venetia La Manna wrote on Twitter: "A private-jetting Kardashian worth $65 million is now 'sustainability ambassador' for fossil fuel fashion brand boohoo, where she'll chat 'with sustainability experts to better understand challenges and opportunities in the fashion industry.' We absolutely KANNOT."

Kardashian will launch a capsule collection at New York Fashion Week on September 13 of alleged sustainable runway looks.
One user on Twitter wrote, "Kourtney Kardashian being Boohoo's Sustainability Ambassador for its limited venture of two collection while the brand adds over 100 new items to the site every day is #greenwashing at its finest."

As a fast fashion retailer, Boohoo was labeled the worst brand for environmental reporting, toxic chemicals, supply chain management, animal testing, and likely tax avoidance, according to ethicalconsumer.org.
It has also recently been under investigation by the U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) for misleading customers with greenwashing tactics. Boohoo has made headlines over the years as well for violations of workers' rights, poor working conditions, and pay below minimum wage.
But Kardashian revealed in a statement that she was well aware of the reputation and implications that fast fashion has on the environment.
"When Boohoo first approached me to collaborate on a line, I was concerned about the effects of the fast-fashion industry on our planet," Kardashian said in a statement. "Boohoo responded with excitement and a desire to incorporate sustainable practices into our line. It's been an enlightening experience speaking directly with industry experts. I'm grateful for the opportunity to use my platform to drive conversations that lead to ongoing change and use my voice to share actionable tips with consumers on how we can play our own part."
She added, "There's still lots of work to be done and improvements to be made, but I truly believe that any progress we can make when it comes to sustainability is a step in the right direction and will open up the conversation for future advancements."
Newsweek reached out to Boohoo and a representative for Kardashian for further comment.
