KSI has announced has criticized Twitter following Chrissy Teigen's departure from the social media platform on Wednesday night.

Teigen's high-profile exit from Twitter, where she had over 13 million followers, has sent shockwaves through the world of social media and sparked a debate about the model's treatment on the platform.

"Twitter used to be an amazing place where you could connect with people in different communities & communicate without any problems," the London rapper tweeted on Thursday morning.

"Now it's just full of pretentious people that are ready to cancel & destroy your legacy for breathing incorrectly."

The musician and YouTube personality, 27, added: "And on that note, I'm out."

KSI, whose given name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, has 6.6 million followers on Twitter.

His tweet comes after a recent controversy in which he was accused of using a trans slur weeks ago for misgendering a person in one of his videos.

Responding to criticism on Twitter, KSI asked his followers: "Hold up, people actually think I'm transphobic?"

Fans explained what had caused the upset and the performer apologized and said he did not intend to misgender anyone and that he learned from the experience.

He said in another post: "My bad for saying transgender slurs. Honestly didn't even know they were slurs. I know now though."

However, KSI was later forced to urge people on Twitter to "stop with the hate."

"2021, positive vibes only. Need to stop with the hate man," he tweeted on March 9. "On all sides. Including people who support me. Life's too short to be angry and hateful towards other people. Only way we advance is with positivity."

Teigen's departure from Twitter has been met with shock from the online community.

"Hey. For over 10 years, you guys have been my world," Teigen began in a thread posted Wednesday night. "I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends.

"But it's time for me to say goodbye," she continued. "This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that's the right time to call something.

"My life goal is to make people happy. The pain I feel when I don't is too much for me. I've always been portrayed as the strong clap back girl but I'm just not."

She added: "My desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didn't sign up for, and a different human than I started out here as! Live well, tweeters. Please know all I ever cared about was you!!!"
