A man is offering a reward for anyone who can help find the person who allegedly spat at him and a friend in Los Angeles.
Tyler Stinson uploaded the confrontation he and friend Josylin Acosta had with the man in the Glassell Park area onto social media on Sunday after he allegedly spat at them.
The pair said they confronted the man in the video when he and his wife started yelling and swearing at an elderly woman with two children, claiming their small dog started attacking their larger dog.
Stinson described the couple with a larger dog as a "couple of Karens" who then spat on him and Acosta when they intervened.
"He also pulled out a knife after we kindly said that the way they approached the situation was not appropriate," Stinson wrote on Instagram. "I would love to get more info on this Karen and am willing to pay $500 if you can find out who this is."
The video shows the incident after the man allegedly spat on them twice.
"Spit on me again, I need a better video for the police," Stinson says in the clip.
Stinson and Acosta also described the confrontation toCBSLA.
"It was clearly a grandmother who wasn't just able to run and grab the dog, and that was the biggest issue that this tiny dog was probably about 30 times smaller than the big dog that they owned," Stinson said.
"The two kids were the ones who went to grab it [smaller dog] and that's when the cussing started happening."
Acosta added: "They looked kind of confused and the grandmother was confused. I don't even think they spoke English, so as a Latina I was even more frustrated."
Acosta said the spitting incident was concerning considering the country in the grips of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"It really shows how much they really don't care about what's happening and about what everyone's going through," she said.
Stinson said the incident could have been a lot worse if the man in the video used the pocket knife he was allegedly carrying.
"The way he took out and the way this conversation was going obviously he's insinuating he's going to do something especially when someone says you are about to get hurt and there's staring at you and inching closer," he said.
"If someone is willing to spit on you, they're also willing to do something as stupid as maybe stabbing you."
It is unclear if the incident was reported to police. Stinson has been contacted for comment.
