Comedian Sarah Silverman said she was "done" with homophobic jokes after she was recently dragged into the Kevin Hart scandal by Nick Cannon.
In defense of Hart, Cannon tweeted on December 7 to comment on a tweet by Silverman in 2010 using a homophobic slur.

Silverman hesitated to detail her opinions on Cannon's tweet, but when TMZ asked the 48-year-old comedian Thursday if she'd continue delivering homophobic jokes, she said, "I'm done with that. I think I can find other ways to be funny.
"I realized it was stupid, and I am certainly creative enough to come up with other words, besides that, that don't hurt people," she continued.
Silverman said she was planning to address Cannon's comments in her own video.
"Comedians don't like being told what to do," Silverman said. "Anyone should be able to express themselves the way they see fit, and if there are consequences, that's a part of it."
The search for Hart's replacement for the Oscars rages on, and Silverman counted herself out, saying, "I don't think I'm the right man for the job."
