Twenty-two-year-old rapper Lil Xan commented on his decision to draw a gun on a stranger during a Friday altercation. The rapper, who was caught on video pointing a handgun at a man who berated him about past comments about Tupac, said the media will twist what "really happened."

The incident was captured on video Friday and obtained by TMZ. Later, on Instagram, Lil Xan claimed he had to defend himself. "The media is gonna try and twist what just happened at a gas station, I was about to be attacked and resorted to having to use self-defense," he began.

Lil Xan also touched on his March 2018 remarks about Tupac, when he called the late rapper "boring." "F*** all you old head-ass b***hes still talking bout that 2pac s*** live your own life. And stop picking on a kid," the Instagram story read.

The incident took place after the unnamed man called Lil Xan a "b***h." Then, the rapper exposed his gun, and made an explicit statement, in which he used the N-word. "What the f**k you want, bruh? Get the f**k out, n****!," he was heard saying in the video.

No shots were fired. TMZ claims the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the altercation.

Lil Xan was with his girlfriend, Annie Smith, at the time. Smith, who was driving the couple's vehicle, shouted to the man, "You started it, you dumb f***," before the pair drove away.

This isn't the first time Smith and Lil Xan have made news. The pair announced their pregnancy in February 2019, though shortly after, they revealed they'd lost their child. Controversy surrounded the entire announcement when some fans found the same ultrasound photo on Google.

In an interview with No Jumper, Lil Xan claimed he had suspicions about whether the pregnancy was real. He said he had asked the hospital to see proof of Smith's miscarriage.

He also said Smith allows him to have sexual relations with other women, and that she "loves him more than he loves her."
