Florida police have released 911 calls after lightning struck and killed a mother while she was out with her daughter and dog.
Nicole Tedesco died when she was struck by lightning while out on a walk with her 10-year-old daughter Ava and the family dog at Trotwood Park, in Winter Springs, on Thursday, August 18.
According to the Winter Springs Police Department (WSPD), Tedesco and her daughter were taken to nearby hospitals, but doctors were unable to save the mother's life.
Ava, who was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital, is now said to be in a "good physical condition."

Deaths from lightning strikes are extremely rare, although each year some people are killed and hundreds more are injured. According to the National Weather Service, 11 people were killed by lightning in 2021.
Police have since released 911 calls made by passers-by after the family was struck by lightning during their walk. Excerpts can be heard by clicking on the picture at the top.
One caller said: "Medical, right away. Trotwood Park. Someone is performing CPR and a person [was] hit by lightning."
Another added: "There is a lightning strike that hit children at Trotwood Park and they are down under the tree."
A WSPD statement sent to Newsweek read: "On August 18, 2022, at approximately 1420 hours, the Winter Springs Police Department received multiple emergency calls about citizens possibly being struck by lightning near Trotwood Park. It appears that lightning hit a nearby tree, energizing the area and striking the victims."
The death sent shockwaves through the community and a GoFundMe page was set up to assist Nicole's husband, Orlando Sanford Airport Authority (SAA) police officer Andy.
In the post, created by the SAA, Andy described Nicole as "a wonderful wife, loving mother and faithful friend whose absence will be felt by many."
Since the GoFundMe page was created over the weekend, some $62,600 has been raised, far exceeding the $40,000 goal.
There have been numerous cases this year alone where people have been killed or injured as a result of lightning strikes.
Earlier this month, a lightning strike near the White House, in Washington D.C., killed three people and injured a fourth.
The two men and two women were struck near a tree in Lafayette Park close to fencing that surrounds the White House complex.
A lightning strike killed a 52-year-old woman and her two dogs in Pico Rivera, California, in June.
The victim was later identified as Antonia Mendoza Chavez, and her body was found on a path in the Mines Avenue Area, KABC reported.
Following the death, local authorities warned residents to stay indoors while storms passed over California.
