Hulu had a big hit on its hands in Little Fires Everywhere. According to Deadline, the Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon show has been one of the most-watched on the streaming service since it was released. With the show a success, there will be plenty of people who will want to see more.
However, it seems that, for now, the show will remain a limited series. Little Fires Everywhere showrunner Liz Tigelaar told the New York Post: "I see it as one and done. I do feel like things are burnt to the ground."
Little Fires Everywhere stars Witherspoon, whose Big Little Lies was originally meant to be a limited series but was then given a second season after the show proved a massive smash hit for HBO. If her new show has been an equal-sized hit for Hulu, then the cast may be persuaded to return for another installment.

This might depend, however, on Little Fires Everywhere author Celeste Ng returning to the world of these characters in another book. This is something that she has previously expressed willingness to do. After a fan asked about whether she would write a follow-up on Goodreads, Ng said: "Everything I know about the characters in Little Fires Everywhere is in the book—I promise I'm not holding out on you. But with that said, maybe they'll come back to me for more of their story—never say never."
However, if she does return to the world of the Richardsons and the Warrens, it will not be for a few years. The author has said she is working on her third book now, which deals with similar themes to Little Fires Everywhere but is not believed to be a sequel. Her first book, Everything I Never Told You, is being adapted into a movie starring Julia Roberts.
The cast of Little Fires Everywhere are likely to return to other projects soon, which might make them too busy for more of the Hulu show. Witherspoon will be back in The Morning Show Season 2, which has already been confirmed by Apple TV+, while Kerry Washington will star in The Prom, Ryan Murphy's musical for Netflix, which was filming before production was shut down by the coronavirus.
However, at least one character can see a way forward for the show. Gavin Lewis (who plays Moody on the series) told The Wrap: "I think the book definitely has a solid, definite ending. And I don't want to call it a cliffhanger, but it does leave some possibilities open. I think there is plenty more story to be had if the writers decide to come back and do something more."
Little Fires Everywhere is streaming on Hulu now.
