Nancy Rodriguez has responded to the infamous Love Is Blind scene of Andrew Liu fake crying over her.

Speaking to Newsweek, the star revealed how she really feels about her former flame using eye drops to pretend he was in tears over their failed romance.

Love Is Blind, the show that sees a group of contestants get to know their potential suitors in individual pods without seeing them face to face until they are engaged, returned to Netflix for Season 3 on October 19.

During the fourth episode of the new edition of Love is Blind, Liu proposed to speech pathologist Rodriguez, who he had formed a connection with, but she rejected him in favor of their co-star Bartise Bowden.

In a confessional interview about the failed proposal Liu, 30, was seen asking an off-screen producer if they were "rolling" before putting eye drops in his eyes and looking tearful.

The moment sparked a wave of memes online as viewers expressed their shock over the moment being kept in the edit and Liu's pretend tears being exposed.

Speaking about the scenes, Rodriguez, 32, told Newsweek that the Andrew she spoke to in the pods gave her "a lot of deception," and she said that his persona whilst getting to know him was very "cool, calm and collected."

"So, I called it out, you know," she said. "I must have superpowers in the pod to be able to tell that something was off."

Rodriguez continued: "When I saw that scene, it just really confirmed and validated that I made the right choice to say 'no' to someone who wasn't in this experiment and this experience for the real reasons."

In the scene in question Liu discusses Rodriguez's rejection and tells the cameras: "It's just too much. It didn't feel good, to be completely honest. I guess I feel satisfied that I went for it. Yeah, man, it hurts."

After applying some more eye drops, Liu says: "I never thought I could care for someone that would bring me to tears."

Love Is Blind fans were quick to pick up on the moment and took to social media to share their thoughts on the situation.

One user wrote: "Love Is Blind producers when they let Andrew use the eye drops to fake tears and then left it in the final edit."

A second tweeted: "Andrew putting eye drops in to produce fake tears: you're gonna cut this right? The producers: yeah totally #LoveIsBlind3 #LoveIsBlind."

While a third wrote: "It's so petty that the producers included the footage of Andrew putting eye drops so he could look sad. I'm so here for it!!! [face with tears emoji, loudly crying face emoji] #LoveIsBlind3 #LoveIsBlind #loveisblurry."

Liu joked about the incident himself on Friday, October 21, when he shared the clip of him putting in the eye drops on his Instagram stories with the caption: "Could have at least edited out the pimple, guys."

The first four episodes of Love Is Blind Season 3 are available to stream now on Netlix.

The next batch of episodes will be released on October 26, followed by another on November 2.

The finale and reunion episodes are due to be released on November 9.
