LSU and Clemson Arrive in New Orleans for National Championship, Here Are Four Hype Videos For the Game

The hype for Monday's College Football National Championship between LSU and Clemson is almost over, but it only intensified this week with hype videos and the teams arriving to New Orleans to kickoff the weekend.

Clemson (14-0), the No. 3 team in the College Football Playoff, will face No. 1 LSU (14-0) Monday night in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Clemson looks to win its second-consecutive national championship, and third in four years. LSU looks to cap a remarkable season that included a record-breaking offense, a Heisman Trophy winner and a school seeking its third national championship since the turn of the century.

Both teams have Tigers as their nickname, and both schools call their home stadiums "Death Valley.

Clemson is a been-there, done-that team as its has made the CFP final four each of the last five years, playing in the national championship now four times in five years. LSU had to get over the Alabama hump in the West Division of the Southeastern Conference, and the Bayou Bengal Tigers are in the their first CFP, and subsequent first CFP title game.

LSU, which is just an hour drive to New Orleans, and the Louisiana State Tigers have called their mission "A 60 minute Drive for a 60 Minute Drive."

LSU football posted a tweet Friday evening of the team arriving in The Big Easy.

The clash of the Tigers will happen January 13, 2020, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Clemson is on a 29-game winning streak, including an undefeated 2018 season and thrashing of Alabama in last season's national championship. LSU is 14-0 after a revamped offense shattered SEC passing records. In the national semifinal at the Peach Bowl last Saturday—a 63-28 LSU win—Burrow passed for 403 yards and seven touchdowns on 21-of-27 passes in just the first half.

Clemson started the season at No. 1, but gradually slipped to No. 3 despite going 12-0 in regular season and walloping Virginia in the ACC Championship. The first slip came after a narrow win at North Carolina, and the fall to third happened as Clemson cruised through an ACC slate not considered as strong as conference schedules of No. 1 LSU (SEC) and No. 2 (Ohio State (Big Ten).

And though Clemson was ranked one spot lower, they entered the Fiesta Bowl as a two-point favorite over Ohio State. Trailing late in the game, Lawrence led the Tigers down the field to put his team ahead, 26-21, and the Clemson defense held on for the win.

LSU is the early favorite (-5) over Clemson in the early lines, and the over/under is 69.5 as of Monday night.
