Lupin fans have been counting down the days for part 2 to drop on Netflix worldwide. Thankfully, the wait is finally over and fans can finally find out what happened next on the beach. For fans who need a quick recap or new viewers who have become caught up in the Lupin hype ahead of the second batch of episodes, here is a recap of how the first part ended.

Part 1 of Lupin saw Assane Diop (played by Omar Sy) embark on his mission to avenge his late father, Babakar Diop (Fargass Assandé).

When Assane Diop was just 14 years old, his father was falsely accused and framed for the theft of a Marie Antoinette necklace by his employer, a French business tycoon Hubert Pellegrini (Hervé Pierre).

Babakar Diop took his own life in prison and his death devastated Assane Diop, who vowed to get justice for his father.

Styling himself on the fictional Arsène Lupin, a gentleman thief and master of disguise created by French author Maurice Leblanc, Assane Diop is determined to take down the powerful Pellegrini family and the man who framed his father.

Throughout the first five episodes, Assane Diop carried out several heists of his own, mirroring the techniques used by Lupin and with each heist, gets one step closer to Hubert Pellegrini.

But, just as Assane Diop thinks he has outsmarted Pellegrini's henchmen, things take an unexpected turn for the worst.

The entire journey to the Arsène Lupin festival at Étretat, with his son Raoul (Etan Simon) and ex-girlfriend Claire (Ludivine Sagnier), Assane Diop is being followed by one of Pellegrini's men, Leonard (Adama Niane).

Leonard, based on Leblanc's "mysterious traveler" from Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar, was sent by Pellegrini to kill Assane Diop, who had almost exposed the latter's corruption.

Assane Diophad previously tricked Leonard into following him on the train to Étretat, Normandy, and framed him to look like the thief of the Marie Antoinette necklace from the Louvre.

But Assane Diop's trick failed as police set Leonard free after it was proven he was the wrong suspect.

Unknown to Assane , Leonard has made it to the beach of Étretat, where Assane Diop, Claire, and Raoul are attending the festival.

Raoul ventures down to the beach on his own but quickly disappears out of sight from his parents. He is last seen being bundled into a car by Leonard.

As a panicked Assane turns around on the pier, another wrench is thrown into the works.

He is greeted by detective Youssef Guedira (Soufiane Guerrab), who throughout the entire series has been using his knowledge of the Arsène Lupin books to track Assane's activity.

Part 1 of Lupin comes to an end with Youssef addressing Assane Diop as Lupin as the screen fades to black.

With two huge twists at the end of the first part, fans will be no doubt be looking forward to finding out what happens next.

Part 2 will most likely begin with Omar Sy's character on a mission to rescue his son.

On a separate note, Assane has effectively been caught by Yousef. Will he be arrested or will they potentially work together?

Several other questions need to be answered in the second part of Lupin including: Will Assane and Claire get back together? Will he encounter Hubert Pellegrini ? And what really happened between Assane and Juliette Pellegrini (Clotilde Hesme)?

Thankfully, Lupin part 2 is streaming on Netflix now for fans to find out.

Lupin part 1 is also streaming on Netflix.
