Dogs soon become a part of the family and many people probably wouldn't ask a pregnant family member to sleep outside in the snow. So they struggle to understand why this man's dog is doing exactly that.
Jason Dennis Rossman, 47, recently shared a video on TikTok of his Newfoundland dog Gimlee snoozing on the porch on a snowy day in Fairfield, Idaho.
The on-screen text reiterates a message he has previously been sent, saying: "If you're cold, they're cold," which couldn't be any further from the truth in his house.
"She slept outside because I had a fire burning and it was too hot inside especially being pregnant. She has a dog door so she could be inside if she wanted," Rossman told Newsweek.

In the clip, three-year-old Gimlee can be seen sleeping outside with snow falling onto her head. The camera then turns to two other dogs who are snoozing indoors.
The poster can be heard saying: "This poor dog is alone, pregnant and outside in the snow," followed by "you may ask yourself, why are these dogs inside on the couch?" He then proves the dog door is open for all to use by placing his hand with the phone through it.
The clip, captioned "She's fine people this is a Newfie, they're bred for this," boasts over 142,000 views since it was shared last weekend.
In the comments, the owner who uses the handle @jasonrossman explained: "These dogs are so insulated snow doesn't melt when it lands on them."
According to the American Kennel Club, female Newfoundland dogs like Gimlee weigh 100 to 120 pounds and males are 130 to 150 pounds.
So far, the clip has racked up over 150 comments and some women seem able to relate.
One user said: "To be honest when I was pregnant I wanted to go lay in the freaking snow."
Another said: "Your dog is me the rest of my family tries to burn me alive all winter."
"It's not even snowing yet and my Saint Bernard Husky mix is outside in 19 degrees because we turned the heater on," said one dog owner.
Previously, the poster shared a similar video of Gimlee's dad called Zshopa, a Great Pyrenees, who seemingly prefers to nap in cold climates too. This video gained a lot of attention on YouTube and racked up 23 million views.
