Man Tries to Capture Sweet Proposal; It Backfires as 'Cat Has Other Plans'

An Indiana couple's proposal video has received viral attention after an unexpected star jumped into the frame.

With over 2 million views on TikTok, the video posted by @laila__95 shows the moment she and her fiancé got engaged. The proposal was so well planned that a camera was set up to record the special moment—but feline friend Loki had other ideas.

In the video caption, the TikToker wrote: "When you're trying to capture the moment but the cat has other plans."

Just as the ring was about to be placed on the bride-to-be's finger, Loki decided to make a grand entrance. With impeccable timing, he leaped into the frame and blocked the camera's view entirely with his hilarious facial expression.

Loki's bright eyes stare directly into the lens, as if he knew he had just photobombed the proposal moment with total perfection.

It seems that cats quite like being involved in a romantic moment whenever possible. Like Ginger the cat, who enjoyed a romantic dinner date with her owner. And a cat in New Zealand was dubbed the "most romantic" after she appeared to give flowers to her owner.

In 2020, WeddingWire surveyed almost 800 pet owners about how their pets fit into their love story.

Of those surveyed, 38 percent said they included their pet in their wedding or engagement. While some opted to have their dog or cat at the event itself, others had their pets in decorations or pictures.

Pets were often involved in the romantic getaway too, with 45 percent reporting that their pet had been part of the honeymoon.

After the photobombed proposal video was shared online, it quickly gained viral attention and laughs.

Charlotte commented, "This is exactly how I want my proposal video, though."

Yesenia, a pet lover, wrote, "All animals getting involved somehow," a reference to the fact that the couple's dogs were also present during the proposal, adding to the video's charm.

Fart hand joked, "It's his moment now," referring to Loki's star turn.

Robin couldn't contain her laughter, saying, "I am cracking up lol."

Holly Jolly Jessica had the final word, declaring, "Best engagement video ever."

TikTok user Kayla Marie agreed and said that the hilarious feline photobomb was the perfect addition to the moment: "No but this is the purrrfect proposal video though! All of the family is in it."
