A public disagreement between Republican Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert has sparked dozens of memes and jokes across social media.

The feud between the two congresswomen, normally allies, was sparked by Greene's support for Representative Kevin McCarthy in his bid for House speaker, which Boebert has disagreed with.

"I've been aligned with Marjorie and accused of believing a lot of the things she believes in," Boebert said Monday at a Turning Point USA conference when asked about Greene's support for McCarthy. "I don't believe in this just like I don't believe in Jewish space lasers."

Her jab was a reference to a bizarre claim that Greene made in a since-deleted 2018 Facebook post. The Georgia congresswoman promoted a conspiracy theory that the Rothschilds, a wealthy Jewish banking family, were profiting off of wildfires in California caused by "lasers or blue beams of light" from space.

Boebert also spoke with The Daily Caller on Monday and said, "I've been asked to explain MTG's belief in Jewish space lasers, why she showed up to a white supremacist's conference, and now why she's blindly following Kevin McCarthy and I'm not going to go there."

Boebert continued, "The only person who can answer for Marjorie's words and actions is Marjorie. Let me be very clear, I support President Trump. Period. President Trump is a friend and the leader of the Republican party."

Shortly after Boebert's comments, Greene responded in a series of tweets saying, "I've supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. President Trump has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. Kevin McCarthy has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. She just barely came through by 500 votes...Lauren refuses to endorse President Trump, she refuses to support Kevin McCarthy, and she childishly threw me under the bus for a cheap sound bite."

The back-and-forth responses between the two Republican lawmakers prompted a flurry of jokes on social media.

"It's a war of crazy vs crazy. Two will enter; only one will leave," Twitter user Yochi Dreazen wrote.

Political commentator Bill Kristol wrote, "Kudos to the scriptwriters for the scenes featuring Lauren Boebert feuding with Marjorie Taylor Greene, interspersed as comic relief in the midst of the ongoing drama on the fate of American democracy."

Filmmaker Jeremy Newberger shared a gif of two individuals fighting and wrote, "Live look at Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert."

The No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen podcast's Twitter account tweeted: "Get your popcorn ready" in regard to the public disagreement between the two.

New York Democratic Representative Ritchie Torres wrote: "Marjorie Taylor Greene is attacking Lauren Boebert. Sounds like the far right knows it's a sinking ship without so much as a paddle."

Newsweek reached out to Greene and Boebert for comment.
