In her recent appearance at a Turning Point USA event in Arizona, Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene blasted the "stupid people in Washington" she works with, whom she accused of hurting Americans with their policies.

The Georgia representative, a longtime MAGA loyalist and Donald Trump ally, was attending the conservative organization's annual event, AmericaFest, at the Phoenix Convention Center on Sunday, where she was listed among the main speakers of the day.

Addressing the crowd at the event, Greene said she was "sick and tired of the stupid people in Washington making horrible decisions, causing Americans to go broke." A recording of the speech is available on TPUSA's website.

She added: "That's what they have done. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and that's because we have stupid people in Washington, D.C., and I can say that for a fact because I work with many of them. And I'm not just talking about Democrats."

The representative's attack was met by cheering and clapping from the crowd. "You guys can tell that I'm pretty sick and tired of Washington, D.C., I don't hide it," Greene added.

After rising from the fringes of the Republican Party to its mainstream core, Greene has been clashing with her former allies and has found herself once again at war with her own party in the past year.

Greene was removed from the House Freedom Caucus shortly after clashing with hardline Republicans, including Representative Lauren Boebert of Colorado, over her support for Kevin McCarthy's bid for House speakership earlier this year.

While the Georgia representative could be considered to have won that fight, as McCarthy was elected after several rounds of voting, the situation was reversed when the California Republican was ousted in October after barely nine months in the job. Greene expressed her resentment against her fellow party members who voted to oust McCarthy, asking for the eight to apologize for bringing Congress to a halt and causing chaos within the party.

Greene's anger against her own party only grew after she called for a motion to censure Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib which failed to receive enough support from House Republicans to pass. After the vote, Greene told reporters she was "sick and tired" of Republicans. Another motion to censure Tlaib filed by another Republican representative was later passed by the House.

Newsweek contacted Greene's spokesperson for comment by email on Monday.

During other parts of her speech in Phoenix, Greene attacked President Joe Biden, saying that the GOP has collected enough evidence to impeach him—despite a recognized lack of any clear proof so far—and repeated false claims that the 2020 election was "stolen" from Trump.

Among the other high-profile names expected to speak at TPUSA's AmericaFest are the former president's son Donald Trump Jr. and his lawyer Alina Habba, Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida, Kari Lake, and many more.
